    Golden Gardens!  That's mostly because it's also close to me, but it definitely has a nice sandy part :)  Alki is another option, but that's in West Seattle so it's a little more of a 'trip' but it has such a cute strip of shops etc that make it feel like a CA beach town.

    I have a love/hate with Alki. It's beautiful and fun... In the winter! Too many people in the summer. Plus when I go to the beach I like to swim. People don't swim in the sound. I'd rather go to a lake Washington beach. Matthews beach, Madrona, magnuson park, Seward part etc. You can swim at all of those beaches.

    My friends pool. It's tiny, heated, only  goes to 5ft, and is shaped like a football. But it's a 5 min walk away and we also eat pizza afterwards :) Going to the beach is far too much work in my eyes. 30mins to get ready, 20mins to get there, and you have to compete with so many people for a good spot. I'll stick with my football.

    it's not beachy, but you can swim at o.o. denny beach park in kirkland/bothell.
