Xmas Vacation ideas..ski?
We decided not to go to the states for the holidays, so we'd like to take a little trip.
We are not experianced skiers, but wouldn't mind giving it a shot.
Any suggestions for a good Christmas-y vaca from the NL, ski related or not?

Re: Xmas Vacation ideas..ski?
You definitely should do a christmas market. Koln, Germany is an easy drive from NL. You can do that in a day if you want. Traffic is pretty crappy though so be prepared for it to take longer than your map directions say.
You should totally do a Kinderhotel for a ski vacation. They cater to children.
My boss went to this one and said it was amazing then booked another vacation immediately. He loved loved loved it.

We went here during the summer but it is set up for skiing in the winter. It was in a beautiful location.

You can search all of the Kinder Hotels here:

Hey TotZiens (though you'll always be Two Peas to me
) I was thinking your place you went to too!
We'll do a market for sure, but wasn't sure if that was something we'd want to do over Xmas itself or just some time around the holiday season.
The traffic getting out of town during the weekend/holidays is enough to make me want to claw my eyes out. AJ is not the best road traveler, we went to Brugge this weekend and though I liked it once I got there, it took 1.5 hours or so longer than expected due to traffic. But on the way back we went off the beaten path and found this great little place to eat in the middle of no where, so do you take the train and miss the traffic or suffer traffic and find random little places.. There is no right answer I guess. But it was frusterating!
TotZ: How many trips did you book with Arke? You like them? With the exception of the 0400 flight of course
I'm doing Greece next summer for sure!
We booked just one through Arke. The only complaint I have against them isn't really a fair complaint - it is all in Dutch!!!
All correspondence is in Dutch, tickets, flights, etc. Everyone there speaks English and is very helpful but you have to take a few extra steps each time you deal with them. They are helpful and friendly but the lack of English correspondence is annoying.
You can't beat their prices either.
