what radio station do you listen to in the mornings?
i was a maria/brad fan and didn't switch when they changed to kid kraddick.
i'm getting more and more annoyed at their conversations in the morning and the fact that they don't play music. i have a 25-30 minute commute and i'm lucky if i hear ONE song. this morning it was 25 minutes into my drive that i heard an actual song. i like getting new/weather/gossip, etc so i don't want to plug in my ipod.
so what station do you listen to in the morning?

The Big Show on 790. I used to jump around, but my station is now locked in to them. Of course, there are never any songs at all.

i was able to use that excuse in grad school - but now that my commute is 30 minutes on a bad day i'm not sure i can justify it. though i would LOVE to...

This is what I do.
If I want to listen to a morning show it is KSBJ.
I would soo love to do that! I don't have unlimited data though and knowing me would end up with a massive bill. I do like the XM stations and so far have never paid more than $4...so that also may be a factor. I wouldn't pay the full prices if I couldn't get another deal.

We got a good deal after our 6 month trial was up so we just signed up for a year of service. I think it worked out for $4-7/month. Since my commute is 60-90 minutes each way it was worth it.

These days, i find myself flipping between 94.5, 104.1, 96.5 and the AM stations. I don't like much of the music that is ever on the radio so I guess I'm opposite of you in that I don't want to hear too much music.
I like Rod Ryan (94.5) the best... he annoys me the least, but I've sort of gotten bored with the show lately and feel like there are more commercials than there used to be.
I can only handle Kidd Kraddick and Roula & Ryan for small periods of time before they get on my nerves. I feel like every time I listen to R&R they are talking about something they know very little about and saying all kinds of incorrect statements like they are fact.
I still don't understand why Kidd Kraddick is so popular and how he's syndicated. The whole cast is pretty blah and boring to me.

Where/how did you get the deal on XM? We bought the 1yr subscription after the free trial ended on my new car but I think I paid well over $100 for 12mos.
ETA: To respond to OP, I listen to my XM all the time in my car.
Threaten to cancel and they'll normally offer you a $5 a month deal for 6 months. I DID cancel (like 6 months ago) and they still call me/email me/send me flyers for deals. We are trying to save money wherever we can so $5 is $5. I miss it though.
Yes - the courthouse is on 10 minutes before every hour (including 8:50am). If that wasn't a skit on that show, I don't think I would ever tune in.
I flip, flip, and flip between all of the stations during my commute. I don't mind a mix of songs/talk, but don't like commercials, and all of the hosts irritate me at some point, so if I can feel myself cringing, I go to the next station! I flip btwn 104.1 (krbe), 94.5 (the buzz), 95.7 (hot hits), 96.5 (mix), 97.9 (the box), and sometimes 107.5 (eagle).
The stations coming home from work are terrible, though. Since there are no "shows", it's all overplayed songs and I can't stand anymore. You can flip between 3 stations and hear the same flipping song! I wish there was a evening show! lol.
ETA: I am a big Maria fan, as well - I wish she would go to 95.7 and save them! ;-)
I was JUST saying this to SO. And since I work in retail I am listening to the stuff that's already in the radio ALL DAY LONG. I listen to talk radio on the way home for a little mental stimulation.
I have had this for almost 3 years and haven't ever paid more than $5/month. I'll probably end up cancelling it soon, though, since I won't be in the car as often. It is nice when we go visit the ILs because after about an hour into the drive it is hard to get any station to come in, much less one you actually want to listen to.
I do the same thing sad does - I keep track of when I renewed it, call to cancel and they reup me for $5. When I listen to radio, it is The Buzz in the morning. Or I'll just listen to my iPod through the radio.

I do the same thing, and I agree Maria should go to 95.7!
I listen to 104.1 on Thursdays for the Roses phone call, but most of the time I have it set on 94.5. I also flip to 95.7 on the 50's for the Courthouse bit, those are my favorite!
I truly cannot stand the guys on 93.7. I used to listen sometimes for the Birthday Scams, but they have gotten so irritating to me that I don't even have that channel on my presets anymore. I can handle a little Obama-bashing, but it's complete overkill on that one, you'd think every single problem in the world was his fault if you listen to those guys.

I have never been able to listen to commercial morning radio shows. The last time I listened to something other than NPR in the mornings (the LSU station when I was living in Baton Rouge) was on 9/11 , and I had just happened to switch it over to NPR before news of the attacks because I didn't like the song they were playing.

This! I listen to the fresh out of bed head to head on 94.5, then flip to 95.7 for Courthouse. Once I'm at school I turn on 104.1 on Thursdays for roses.
