cheap car paint jobs?

Anyone have any recs for a place that would do a good job for cheap? We have a car....DH calls his work beater (''98) that we don't want to get rid of and actually really like...runs and works great... but looks really ghetto because of the piant, which is pretty much gone.

Re: cheap car paint jobs?

  • When my beater was looking like a leper, I was getting quotes at MAACO, and they seemed reasonable.  I am not sure about the quality, but I figured I wasn't looking for top notch for my car, anyway.  I ended up getting another car before I went through with it - but you may see if they are in Houston and can give you a quote.
  • My MIL recently used MAACO and was happy with them.

  • Honestly, I've been trying to steer clear of MAACO. At least at home, the paint jobs may have looked good, but the paint also wipes off! Yeah, I had customers yelling at me because they purchased a chamis ( really soft material to dry their car) that the chami took the paint off. Ummm... wouldn't have taken off the paint if it was sealed properly.

I'm really hoping for a small family operation. Didn't know if they even exist down here. What sucks, is this is what my ex does for a living.
