UPDATED Ugh, mom admitted to hospital
Thanks for all the T&P Ladies...they think it was a just a migraine, she's still in the hospital for a few more tests, but looks like it was not a stroke. They are just being cautious which I guess is for the best. She said she is bored and wants to go home.
I think it's just a migraine, but of course her office staff freaked out and thought she was having a stroke and made her go across the street to the ER.
They did a bunch of tests but admitted her to run more to 100% rule out a stroke. She thinks it is just because she has insurance. Gotta love our healthcare system.
Think good thoughts for my momma.
Re: UPDATED Ugh, mom admitted to hospital
ugh. one heck of a migraine.
i hope she's ok!
It happened to me the first time at daycare and I wet my pants and couldn't talk. I was 4. I had one at a conference in my early 20s, then I had about 4 in two months in early 2008 at which point I went in for an MRI and they didn't find anything. I now kind of know the early symptoms and if I get some caffeine and into a dark place they usually go away before progressing.
Good thoughts for her. My thoughts its always better to be safe than sorry. Does she have a history of migraines?
Right after M and I started dating he had one, his whole left side of his body went numb, he couldn't walk, was slurring his words, his vision was blurred, I was so scared. I was thankful it was a migraine, and the symptoms to watch out for next time. I do have to say we'd be going right back to the ER even knowing this, I just don't think you can too many precautions with these type symptoms.
Holy Cow you guys! That is one heck of a migraine! I hope she is ok Claire.

Oh good thoughts to your mom! Glad they are being cautious though. If I were a co-worker I would have been concerned too as it sounds like the symptoms mimic a few of those associated with a stroke ... though you'd think they'd listen to her since she's experienced it before.
