Seems we were spared the worst of the storms, but lots of people I know are without power still.
We maintained power with the exception of two 30 second lapses during the day yesterday. We have leaves and some small branches all over our yard, but nothing hit the house and no big trees fell. DH is at work all day, but I work in Newport and I heard the whole island is without power and I don't have to report until noon, if then. If power isn't back on there by 10, I'll be home the whole day. Thankfully DS's daycare opens at 11, so I will be able to go in if power is restored. My mom in Cranston and grandmother in Warwick are both without power, so we might have company tonight.
How did you fare?
Re: Checking in
We lost power for about 2 hours, but it was restored about a half-hour after lunch. Only a few branches broke off our trees, and most of the debris in our yard is from neighboring properties. The only water we got in our basement came in through the bulkhead. But, I don't think we sustained any damage either from winds or water.
My parents, sister, grandparents... and countless other family and friends have been without power for more than 24 hours now. My parents' house sustained some damage, but minimal. One of my cousins had a tree come down and it was at least leaning on their house, but fortunately nobody was hurt. Her FB status read, "Holy tree on our house, Batman!"
They are in Edgewood, right on Narragansett Blvd, almost to the Providence line. They apparently lost electricity, phone, and cable/internet.
It took 5 failed IUIs and a failed IVF, but our FET worked!
