Oh...Monday

So I had a miserable weekend, along with lots of us, because of Irene.  So did anyone have a nice weekend that they'd like to share?

What are you looking forward to this week?  It's supposed to be beautiful weather all week, so I'm hoping to enjoy some of it while it lasts!

Re: Oh...Monday

  • besides the hurricane/tropical storm, our weekend was very pleasant. we spent all of sunday inside (the mbta was down anyway!) and cleaned the whole apartment. saturday we mostly stayed inside except on sat night for an event. low key weekend!
  • Being a person who majored in Meteorology i LOVE any kind of exciting weather lol... so Friday we went out with DH work friends and had fun.  Saturday I had my lil surprise then photographed a wedding which was fun and everyone's thoughts were towards Irene.  Sunday was sitting around watching DH drink beer (huge grr), playing COD (uh side note - call of duty in 3D is AMAZING. lol), and editing photos...

This week is the first week of schooooool!  Today was supposed to be the first day but thanks to Irene... it's not!  Dinner tonight with some ladies then a three day weekend with the DH!  Red Sox game on Friday!

    Have a great week!

  • We had a nice weekend. After work Saturday we went to the in-laws house. We learned some not so great news about grandma. She has been accepted for hospice care. Although we don't really have an idea of a time frame of how much time she may have left with us.

Sunday DH and I went to the Zoo. It was a lot of fun and we went early in the morning before it got too hot out. Plus we got to do everything for free. It was perfect :) That afternoon DH finished sanding an end table we wanted to refinish. We also got one coat of stain on it.

I'm having an extended weekend :) Because of Irene, shipment is going to be delayed so I don't work til Wednesday! :)

  • Yeah, our weekend sucked just like yours. Freaking Irene.

Looking forward to a nice week this week. Lots to do for work before the long weekend, but certainly looking for it!

  • My weekend was so-so...I was home sick on Friday with a sore throat. Saturday DH & I went to an open house for the new fire engines his volunteer dept purchased, then we had a wedding to go to. When leaving the wedding, I fell on the wet wooden ramp and messed up my knee....I spent the rest of the weekend keeping it up and icing it. It's still swollen and it hurts when you press on it. About half of it is just numb (which is a weird feeling lol). If it's not better in a few days, I'm going to call the Dr.

  • I had to laugh a little at our weather forecast on Saturday:

"Weather will be beautiful across SW Florida, as Hurricane Irenre pushes dry air down"

Soooo Sat I enjoyed the beautiful weather at the pool, then we took our friends to dinner which was really yummy and fun! Yesterday DH smoked pork all day and we had a couple friends over to help us eat it.

All were in my thoughts during Irene, though! My parents lost power and as far as I know still don't have it back. Yuck :P

  • We had a good weekend.

Friday night we stayed in and relaxed.

Saturday we got up early to deliver our desk to my coworker then went to the farmer's market and meat market.  That afternoon some friends came over for snacks before we headed out to a baseball game.

Sunday we went to church and Sam's club, then came home to do laundry and be lazy.

We have a somewhat busy week ahead, but I'm looking forward to the weekend.

glad we could help ya out with that hahaha!  you owe us one :)

  • The weather in Chicago this weekend was beyond amazing.  Upper 70's and hardly a cloud in the sky.  We did SO much....went shopping, went to Brookfield Zoo, Hooters, comedy show, grocery shopping, cleaned my entire downstairs (heaven).

    It was just so great.

And I'm excited this week because I thinkkkkkkk I'm gonna ovulate.  :)  Who knew somebody could get SO excited over something so little.

  • We had a great weekend, except I was stressing a bit watching the weather all weekend cause I was worried about all my ladies!!! Glad you all made it out okay!

Friday night I cleaned the house and made supper for Jeff and his friends for when they got home from golfing. Saturday morning I got up early and did some laundry, then Jeff and I went golfing with my parents. That night we took a friend out for dinner, then came home and watched the Lions STOMP Tom Brady (hehe, you know I couldn't resist...btw...wtf is up with his hair? It is getting WAY worse!).

Yesterday we met both of my sisters and their kids at the state fair. It was a fun day, although it rained for a bit. They had all the animal barns connecting though, so we could take the kids to see all the animals without taking them out in the rain. The kids did rides then in the later afternoon when the sun came up. Jeff and my sister Jen shared the "Fried Butter on a Stick" to see what it was like and to say they did it. Basically, they said the top two bites were just like a buttery pancake with cinnamon, but after that you actually got TO the butter and neither of them wanted to even eat a bite of that part! Haha! The crap they come up with at fairs is SO disgusting! My oldest sister and her two kids came and stayed with us last night, so I spent the morning hanging out with them.

Back to the grind...on a side note...college football starts this week!

  • Weekend was ok, fortunately, our community (and our trees!) were spared, with no loss of power or flooding. Many around us weren't as fortunate, though, and my heart goes out to them.

We didn't do too much, Mom and I kept our regulary scheduled mani-pedi/lunch date on Saturday before the storm (priorities, after all!), and on Sunday after all checked out with Irene, H and I went out to lunch and had a nice little date. But otherwise, a fairly low key weekend!

  • Saturday I was up early because I couldn't sleep.  Thankfully fell back asleep on the couch.  When I got up I took an Intelligender Prediction test (that I won) and it said boy!  We'll see what the doctor's say!  The rest of Saturday was pretty awesome.  Ran some errands, went to the farmer's market, made fresh salsa, did some laundry, and then had a small campfire.

Sunday was church (almost passed out) and Shaun made spaghetti with fresh sauce (nummy!), then he went to work and I washed dishes, took a nap, walked the dog, and did some sewing.

Pretty low key weekend but had fun :)

  • The highlight of our weekend was Amanda's birthday party.  A success as everyone had fun, except for me of course, who was running around all night making sure everyone else was having fun.  Funny how my cousins and neighbors ask why I"m stressed out and telling me to sit down and relax.  Easy to say when you're on the receiving end!!!

Sunday was my friend's birthday so I "supervised" a visit with her kids, despite my desperate wish to recover from hosting a party Saturday night!!  It was nice though as Amanda joined us.  My friend's kids love her!!!

Hope everyone and their belongings managed to escape the wrath of Irene!!!

  • Whew! I am just starting to relax now after work/shopping/dinner.

Friday we went to a bar with a bunch of friends (DH's hockey buddies) and had a good time.

Saturday I went to get my vitamins and then hunkered donw for the rest of the day, making some roasted chicken legs which would be available for dinner Sunday if the power was out. I also did like 5 loads of laundry and cleaned all the floors.

Sunday the weather was ok by mid morning and SS had 3 of his buddies over and played on the Xbox for like 6 hrs (last hoorah before school started today) so I was puttering around the house and made homemade chocolate pudding with SD. I had my talk with SS about getting his act together so he can stay at his private school the rest of high school bc if he doesnt turn assignments in like last year he's going to public school. (his friends are at his current school so hopefully that'll continue to motivate him) I encouraged him to ask for help if he needs to get organized or needs any help. Hopefully it works!

Nothing major this week, just finishing a waitlist update which takes a lot of my daytime hrs away. Looking forward to the long weekend!
