Preschool moms

Sophia goes to her first day of preschool tomorrow, but I know some of you started earlier.  So have you picked up any tips?  I've got her bag all ready to go with the things she needs (change of clothes, two pairs of undies, socks, contact info, tuition check, jacket just in case).  I've also got all our clothes laid out as well as her hair ties/bows, and our shoes so there is no hunting in the morning.  We've been working on her morning "to do list" so she can basically get herself ready in the morning.  Anything else?

I'm on the board of her preschool so obviously am confident in my choice, but now that we are on the eve of sending her I'm getting nervous.  Can you tell?

Re: Preschool moms

  • I just made a schedule out of pictures for

    breakfast

    getting dressed

brushing hair (which takes 15 minutes here so it's an event in and of itself)

    brushing teeth

    getting shoes on

    sunscreening and/or coats and hats

That way when I'm busy with Ana I can ask K to check her schedule.

We lay clothes out the night before like you do. That helps (me) a ton.

This doesn't apply to you much but I've learned to put Ana in her carrier instead of letting her walk holding K's hand like usual, because otherwise I can't tear her away from the preschool toys/playground.  She want's to stay so badly.

Oh and playclothes. They get so messy.

Other than that, we're pretty low key about preschool. Maybe it's because I don't love ours though.

  • The only other thing I can think of is to make sure your camera is ready (charged and has memory stick with empty space).  You'll definitely want to take lots of pictures on that first day...it's so special!
