One class- SEVEN text books?
Is that normal??? I have never taken a class that required more than three books, seven feels extremely excessive. I mean, I get that we need to buy materials and need reading for the course, but really? Seven??
Re: One class- SEVEN text books?
I have one required text listed, along with about a dozen recommended books, in my syllabus. I would see what is on reserve at the library and then figure out what you really need to buy.
Professors get desk/exam (i.e. FREE) copies of books... and are usually passionate about what they teach. I think they tend to forget that the cost of books add up quickly!
Yound adult literature=favorite undergrad class! Loved it!
I took Adolescent Lit for my BS degree and it was great. My H took it with me for his BA in English lit elective course and he didn't like it. The course I'm taking now is Literature and Resources for Children, and then I think I have 5 more classes to take after this semester to be certified as a K-9 School Librarian specialist.
