Angry Birds Halloween Costume?

My 4 year old nephew has decided that he wants to be the bomb from Angry Birds. How in the world am I supposed to make a round costume without it being too hot? We live in Texas and it's usually pretty warm through mid-November.

On second thought, how do I make a round costume period?!

I am using this pattern as a guide for the shape, then I'll modify the stuffed beak and eye/eyebrow pieces from the fleece birds I made my DS. My kids are going to be the red bird and little green pig.

Maybe for the black bird you can make a hat to go with it that has a fuse on top, although that might be hot in TX. There's a good tutorial for a circular AB costume that you just put your arms through...that might be better in hot weather! I found it via google, but didn't bookmark it. It should be easy to find if you google image it, though.
She's crafty - and she's just my type.
  • Thank you so much! I will google it right now :)
  • I'm actually making my chihuahua the blue Angry Bird and my pug the green King Pig.  I'm using the pattern for a pumpkin costume and using green double napped flannel and blue teddy bear fur but you could use lighter weight materials like black flannel or cotton.

PS... I'm going to use this one for the dogs but something similar for kids would work.
