Feather Extensions

I don't get it. What is all the hype regarding them?

Re: Feather Extensions

  • They're cute.. if you're 18.

  • I don't get it either. Nothing screams "take me seriously" like peacock feathers in your part. I thought it was just my fuddy duddiness though - I also don't understand dying your hair unnatural colors, body piercing or tattoos. Apparently I am not down with self expression.
  • Really? I don't get tattoos or piercings, but if I could be 18 again... I'd totally do this to my hair:

Im with you CD. I love that.

I know, right? But it's only cute if you're young enough that you don't have to worry about being taken seriously. & when you get sick of it.. Cut it off!

  • I told you, I'm a fuddy duddy. Always have been. At 18 I was wearing chino crops and sweaters tied over my shoulders with pearl earrings. Dyed tips would not have gone with my 50yo lady of leisure at the country club look.
  • LOL. You sound like Jen Lancaster.

At 18, I had my hair highlighted a la Kelly Clarkson:

    I knew I liked you for a reason. I wouldn't have liked this at 16, 18 or even 20.

  • I think they're cute and I'd get them now if I didn't work in a professional environment. Actually, I could get them now we don't have any policies against hair color or tattoos as long as it's not "distracting". I know people with pink hair that work in other departments. I just feel that I should look slightly more professinal than that.

  • I was actually going to get some for summer, but when I wanted them no one in Pensacola carried them. I guess I could still do it now, but I'm over it. I don't work in a professional environment at all and I don't really care if I'm taken seriously at this in between stage of my life. I think it's fun to do different things to your hair and body.

    You're a nanny, right?

Yes, with a very laid back wear your pj's to work kind of family. I'm sure if the family was more strict I would reconsider it.

  • I think it's cute if you're young enough aka don't have a real job.
  • I don't care for them.  Nor do I care for the hair braids or wraps they try to entice you with in the Caribbean.  Commere pretty lady, I do your hair, I give you braids, pretty girl.

  • Yeah, it's cute if "you" are young and hip and/or in some kind of job/college/industry where you can sport that, you being not me, ever. I was too busy trying to get my hair to not fuzz out and look like a brunette bozo to spend even more time and money on it making it more trouble to care for.
  • I agree that it's cute if you're young and don't really need to worry about the impression you put forth. I can even see it if you're older but work in certain industries. It's kind of pretty but I wouldn't do it myself. I'm not beyond putting a feather clip or some kind of accessory in my hair temporarily but extensions are a bit much for me.

  • Originally, I thought they were cute if done in a subtle way, such as peeking out from behind your ears in a similar color to your hair. It kind of looks like a tiny braid, which I sometimes do in my hair.

I change my answer to 'I don't get it either" when I couldn't find anything like that via a google image search. But, y'know, if you have a stylish dog in your life....
