What's on your Christmas List?

I know it's 4 months away... it's crazy. I want to start my shopping because I'm in the habit of buying for 30 people, at least. This year we've cut our list by opting out of drawings with extended families and my immediate family went to drawing names. THANKFULLY!  Now we have 14 plus the 4 of us. So, I'm looking for ideas for others. I'm hoping to buy for everyone online to have the gifts sent back to NY instead of me having to transport them with all our stuff too. So I must hold off on buying gifts- I'm not sure my mom or MIL want to have gifts sitting around their house this early (although MIL is probably starting a good pile already!)

My MIL just asked me for ideas too. So now I'm looking for ideas for me too.

What's on your list??

Re: What's on your Christmas List?

  •  DH and I want bigger items for our house, and individually we haven't thought of too many items yet.

A snowblower-very exciting item, but we do not have one.

A new computer; both our laptops are are their last life.

On my list- I always ask for pajamas/sweat pants from Victoria's secrets because they make them in long-length, and rarely go on sale.

  • I CANNOT believe that we're talking about Christmas already but I'd be lying if I told you that I hadn't been thinking about it anyway.

I buy for a lot of people as well but I?ll be off work on maternity leave at Christmastime this year.  I?d like to be thinking of inexpensive gifts and/or homemade gifts.  And I?d like to be able to do as much online as possible.  I mean maybe by then I?ll be itching to get out of the house but I?d like it to be a choice to go shopping ? not a requirement.

Anyway?my Christmas list includes plastic wine glasses (since we?re outside a lot more in the new house), lasagna pan, one of those jewelry boxes hidden behind the mirror frame and fun address labels for our new address. I think this is all I?ve come up with so far.  Oh, and maybe a gift certificate to one of the places online that will turn your photo into a canvas print.

    Hope that helps!

  • I have actually started my Christmas shopping already!  (for my brothers and their gf's/wives)  I bought some box sets of movies the other day at Borders, and got a really good deal on them because of the "going out of business" sale!

I really want to start spending more money on "experiences" instead of "stuff".  DH and I decided to start spending money on the experiences instead of the stuff for all of our birthday's, holiday's and anniversary's.  For my birthday (in September) DH bought me tickets to Wicked for the both of us!

For xmas I hope to buy tickets for a short vacation in March or April.  It would be nice to get out of town for a bit!  I would like a gift card for a spa or massage (That sounds amazing right now!) or to a nice restaurant or something like that... I don't know exactly... I'm still trying to get done planning this vacation and then my birthday!

  • Thinking about Christmas gives me a headache! I am usually that person that waits to the day before and goes out first thing in the morning and does all of the shopping in one day!  That is the very reason why I took the whole week off before Christmas.

I only have a few ideas of things I would like,  I want another year subscription to Netflix, I got one last year and it's really like it. I also need some more perfume and I would love to get a Kindle or Nook but we will see. Now that we have a kid, we don't get a whole lot:)

  • An adult beverage!

Its really hard for me to think of things I want lately, I have pretty much all that I want.  I usually ask my mom for clothes but I will be holding off on that this year.  A maid service would be awesome though!

  • Really good question actually.  This is been momentarily crossing my mind lately.  With the wedding and honeymoon next year, there is nothing FI and I need more than money.  Except perhaps some home improvement stuff.  Both of which, of course, no one is really going to want to get us.  Maybe I can hit them up to pitch in for a mini-vacay (which we really need) to like Traverse City or even one of the casinos in Detroit.

The only thing I can think of right now that we need is a firesafe lockbox for some of our important papers.  I want to keep them safe and in one location.  Last night FI was talking about getting a passport, and was looking at the requirements, and realized that he did not have any of the required pieces of evidence of citizenship (he's originally from Canada, but is a US citizen).

  • I honestly have no idea.  With the LO coming, I'm sure my wants/needs are going to change drastically.  The only thing I can think of is a breast pump for when I go back to work... but I think I need that earlier than christmas anyways.

  • So far on my list I have a Book Cover with an attached book mark like DH's (I'm still old school...no e-reader) a book light cause mine died, A power plug for my laptop, a wireless printer, lens hood and a new backpack type bag for my camera, over the door jewelry organizer, a ped egg (my SIL loves hers), stamps, razors, (I usually have a lot of practical things on my list that I hate buying for myself) and that's all I've thought of so far.
  • Ok so most of my list toppers are big $$ items, but in my defense, my b-day is just after x-mas so I usually get one large gift to cover both x-mas and b-day w/smaller little stocking stuffer items.

    List:
    X-country ski set
    Downhill ski set
    GC to REI
    Kayak set
