  • This thread makes me sad!

  • I am about 5 lbs below prepeg weight and my clothes still dont fit "right" but I think thats just because my muscle has turned to fatty flab from my less serious fitness routine, not because my body has actually changed shape permanently!!  Ive heard it takes 2 years for your body to regulate--both hormonally and physically--into whatever the new you will be so it might be awhile ;(

  • I am about 20-25 lbs less than pre-preg weight and I am about the same size as before.  If anything I lost my butt, I have no butt.  I didn't have much of one before, but I have even less of one now.  It's sad.

This exactly. My body didn't drastically change for the worse. I think it's more due to me not working out as much. I definitely have more belly fat than I used to, and when I do gain a couple of pounds, it's all in the belly. I'm hoping with my new running routine I'll change some of that.

ETA: I'm not saying any moms are lazy...if that's the impression anyone got. :) We're far from it! I just am blaming my body on my own lack of working out.

  • i would say i am equally a lazy ass.

i think my boobs are holding more weight then pre preg.

and of course i have a pouch which is making my lowrise pants not really fit.

  • Unfortunately everything gets all moved around when your are pregnant. That whole "mother bearing hips" and stuff. I fear I will never go back to normal, but I am going to bust my ass trying as soon as this kid comes out!
  • my plan for this week and next is to start getting in some workout time first thing in the am. nothing crazy just some yoga or pilaties moves to strengthen my core and hopefully get the tummy and saddle bags back in check. dear lord i have saddle bags and i just admitted it on the interwebs.

  • I?m just a few pounds below my pre-pregnancy weight & my pre-pregnancy clothes fit. Once my c-section incision healed & I was comfortable (maybe 8 wks pp), I tried on my pre-pregnancy jeans & work pants and had no fit issues. Even my shoes fit, and from the horror stories I had heard from other women, I totally expected to have to buy new clothes & shoes wardrobes due to the possible the need to go up a size. I was kind of looking forward to buying new clothes, so I was oddly disappointed.

Since I weigh less than I did pre-pregnancy, I thought my clothes would fit a little looser, but they don't.

I realize I'm probably the anomaly & I most likely won't be so lucky next time.

I don't know, I thought I had heard that it can take your body a full year to completely recover from pregnancy. I developed a health issue towards the end of my pregnancy, caused by the pregnancy, and I'm still dealing with it almost 6 months later.

  • I'm about 7-10 lbs above pre pg weight still. I lost a ton in 6 weeks but have been frozen for a while. I am thinking the rest comes off once I wean. Anyway, I'm back in my old clothes, mostly. I have a few pairs of pants that juuuuuust fit before that I can't wear yet. I think I'm holding most everything in my upper body. My boobs are so huge compared to before and I have this hideous back fat that is new. Things are just shifted around I guess.

The "Assets" line at Target is good. I have the "cool comfort" shorts that go up to my braline. It's great under dresses. They're rarely in-stock in the store, though.

  • i just had my 4 week pp check up today.  i'm at my pre preg wght (yay!) but my clothes (jeans) fit nowhere near like they did before this pg.(boo).  after my 1st pg my jeans fit like normal at 6 weeks pp.  maybe things will change in 2weeks but i doubt it :(  i'm findingn clothes are even harder to fit back into after baby#2.  sigh.
  • i use to wear my pants with like super lowrise. i'm thinking this is my issue.
  • I've got about 5lbs to go, but I attribute that to being at my parents for a month and eating like shiit.  I'm sure I can get it off quickly when I'm back into my routine and calorie counting again.  My clothes fit 3-4 weeks after Claire, but I agree things aren't the same proportion anymore; I'm still in denial that this proportion is permanent.

ETA: I had a c/s and no labor so I wonder if this helps the "child bearing hips" thing.

  • It's just different for everyone.  My metabolism has always sucked and I have been busting ass for months at the gym and I am still 5 lbs above pre-preg weight

However, I have been losing inches and clothes are definitely fitting better.  My pre-preg size is in my sights and my ultimate goal is to beat it.  Age is also a factor for me, it is getting harder and harder to lose

I agree w/the muscle turning to flab thing.  I had awesome thighs before and now they are just a mess!

And i'm over 3 years post and they are still a mess.
