Suggest a dinner recipe...

I have 1 lb. of ground beef. I'm all out of creative ideas on what to make with it. Any good and easy recipes to share?!

I have lots of other basic stuff on hand...herbs, tomato sauce, beef stock, etc.

TIA!

Re: Suggest a dinner recipe...

  • When I'm bored with the typical ground beef recipes, I usually make inside out shepherd's pie or hearty beef pasta.  Something a little different than the usual spaghetti, burgers, and tacos.

  • I made a tortilla pie recently and it was delish. I made a mixture of ground beef, black beans, corn, mexican rice, spinach, peppers, onions and tomatoes (you could put whatever mexicany ingredients you want). Layer tortilla, beef mixture, cheese, repeat 3 times. Bake 350 for 20 mins.

I stuffed some bell peppers with the same ground beef mixture and froze them.

I've also been wanting to try this crockpot lasagna recipe I found on pinterest. Not different, but a whole lot easier than regular lasagna, which I'm usually too lazy to make.

  • I know this sounds gross, but i made this in college all the time. and it is yummmmmmmmy. :)

1 lb ground beef, cooked and drained.

6 slices bacon, cooked and torn into bite size pieces (reserve 2tbs of bacon fat)

2 packages of ramen noodles, discard the seasoning packets

    1 garlic clove, minced

    1/2 med red onion, diced

    1/2 med cabbage, chopped

1 1/2 carrots, cut into thin 1 inch strips

1/2 red bell pepper, cut into bite size pieces

    1-2 tbs soy sauce

1 1/2 cups bean sprouts (mung bean)

1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

In a large wok, brown ground beef, drain, and set aside. Fry bacon, drain on paper towels and reserve fat. Heat bacon grease over med. heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft. Add soy sauce. Add carrots, cabbage, and pepper. Cook for 6-7 minutes. Stir-fry on med high heat for 5-6 minutes, or until veggies are crisp tender. Prepare ramen noodles according to package, drain and add bacon and beef to veg mixture. Stir in red pepper flakes. Heat 2-3 minutes or until meat is heated through. Add bean sprouts. Mix together and stir fry 2-3 minutes.

Serve with soy sauce to taste!

I have a similar recipe, but mine doesn't include rice and tomatoes... I might have to try that next time, sounds even more delish!
