I keep calling them books on tape and Seth reminds me that it is not the 80s.
I miss reading and was thinking of getting some audio books. Do any of you do Audible? Anything else? Talk to me.
Re: Audio Books
When we lived in Biddeford and I was commuting an hour each way to work I listened to audio books all of the time. I really enjoyed it!
I also like podcasts.
The library! They have a bunch.
Podcasts you can just download from the itunes store.
I listen to books on CD all the time! With my commute, I pretty much have to or I'd go crazy. LOL I get mine at the library. My library has an OK selection of books on CD and I go through about one a week or so. There is also a website (which I haven't signed up for yet, but probably will soon because I've already listened to a lot of the CD's my local library has) where you can download them from all of the Maine Libraries right onto your ipod (if you have one). If you go to the Maine Library website you should be able to find it that way or if you talk to your local librarian I'm sure they can help. I'm betting that's the website MA&CB is thinking of!
This. I know that was one of the things that really interested me when I got my library card in Gardiner. I think its amazing how libraries are using technology to expand their selection and make books available to suit all types of readers/listeners!
I have done a couple for the commute, but don't truly enjoy it as much...
on our way down to DC we listened to a book that both DH and I enjoyed and that was nice, plus its a lot harder to fall asleep listening to a good book then it is listening to crappy New Jersey radio!
