Half of our house is without power...very strange. Dominion says they have no outages and nothings wrong with the neighbors. It went out last night (so I couldn't watch my TV shows!) We're in Sterling. TIA!!
Re: Electrician recs please
I've got a name but it's at home.. I can PM you with his info tonight, if you don't get a faster response. (it sounds like a main circuit blew if it's only half your house...but I am very much not an expert on electrical matters...) you may want to try to turn off the main breaker at the box and then reset... see if that fixes it?
"What is a week-end?"
Look around for GFCIs. They are the outlets with buttons in bathrooms and kitchens. Find every one in your house and check if it has tripped. Press the test button, then the reset button. Check your panel board, too, as it could have a GFCI breaker (some of them have rest buttons in addition to turning them off then on). Make sure you turn the breaker to the off position before you move it back to on (you did this, but its standard advice).
If all that fails, its probably going to involve some troubleshooting and tracing out wires. I could recommend someone, but the office is in Alexandria and they don't really go out to Sterling, so its not much help.
Thanks I'll try that and DH is going to call the dominion power again
