I interviewed for a position June 3rd. I interviewed with 7 people and felt it went very well. The position is a very good fit for my experience. I sent a couple of emails "checking" on the status of the position between June 14th and July 19th. I had pretty much given up any hope that I would get the position at that point. However, I received a voice mail from the hr lady on August 8th saying that she was sorry for the delay and that I was in consideration - this was totally out of the blue. I would like to send an email asking for an answer either way. Should I follow up with her once more or let it go?
Can you give me some information about the status of the *** position? I am in a position to make some decisions and would like to know if this is still a possibility.
I'm having a hard time just letting it go since I felt like it was such a possibility at one point. Thanks ladies!

I totally feel your pain. I'm going through something similar with a firm I interviewed with in July. It's been over six weeks since the last interview (I interviewed three times) and they still haven't gotten back as to their decision-although according to the recruiter last week I'm still a top candidate...whatever.
I'd let it go. It's been several weeks since the phone call/voicemail. Unless they told you it would be a long process I wouldn't follow up, and just keep looking elsewhere.
I don't think there's anything wrong with following up again. It's certainly been long enough. However, I really don't like the wording of what you put above. Are you in a position to need to make a decision? Do you have another offer on the table? If not, then I wouldn't say that. Just ask about the status of the position and reiterate that you remain interested in the position and the company.
If you do have another offer to consider, I would call rather than emailing and let them know that while you have another offer on the table, you are more interested in this position and ask if they will be making a decision promptly.
