FB group vent

I feel like some people use our FB group solely for their own personal gain and it's really annoying. I'm happy to vote for your child to be the cutest baby ever or for your blog to be blog of the year or for you to win the trip of a lifetime (seriously, I'm happy to do that), but don't constantly spam my newsfeed with your internet contests from your blog (or your brother's cousin's wife's blog) that you shamelessly self promote.
If you really want us to vote for your extended family's rock contest, then at least post once in while to one of the legitimate threads so that we know you're not just using us to gain votes and become an internet celebrity overnight. Ok, vent over.

eh. I think you can just skip it or not read it.
She was a very frequent poster before having a baby and being a work at home mom.
Because she is a stay at home mom and this is her "business". Obviously she thinks it's important so I'm not going to b!tch her out for trying to make a living. Also, I'm not going to contact every person on FB who annoys me with posts-- I just hide them from my feed, but can't hide her posts from the group feed.
I had no idea other people thought she was this annoying too. Maybe she'll (gasp!) come on the board, find this, and stop. I don't really care enough to confront her, I just wanted to vent.
I'm tired of the clicky links too, but I agree with TotZiens on this one.
I agree with this. Many of us have 'known' her for a long time. I understand your point but I also don't think it takes a lot of energy to just ignore it.
And I am sure she will see this.

Fine, I'll say it to your face. I didn't even realize you were around anymore.
All you do is spam the FB group with your blog. I get that this is a public forum so you can do what you want on here, but it's annoying to have a closed group on FB to bring the spamming to. You already post on your FB status-if people want to vote they can vote from your status. You don't need to take up the whole newsfeed for your own personal gain.
The other women in the group with their own businesses don't do it because they sense that there's a line of etiquette that is breached by promoting yourself in a private group. It's tacky and annoying.
My blog is not my business. I make no money from it. I post competitions/contests because I genuinely like to see people I know win.
Calling me tacky and basically "calling me out" thinking that I wouldn't see it is the epitome of annoying and tacky. We will agree to disagree because I'm done with it.

She does post on this board other than contests (I certainly recognize her and I've just been around a little over a year) and I agree with some PPs that this passive-aggressive call-out was uncalled for. Do I get a little irritated seeing those posts over and over again on the FB group? Sometimes. But really, it's not that hard to just ignore it. I don't really feel spammed.

I am glad you were actually able to call her on it "face to face," which you should have done with to begin with versus being some high school girl of pointing and saying you really are annoyed by a certain person. Seriously, grow up. If you have issues with people specifically about something, send them a PM and deal with it like a civilized adult.
Melaina, it bothers me too -not so much that you do it - though it seems akk ythe time at the mpo, but you never seem to post otherwise.
I thought the posts begging for votes on FB and on here were annoying, but I do also agree that it was sh!tty to come here and post it since you thought Melaina wouldn't see it here.
I agree.. Same goes for the bit snarkness that goes on in it as well - it annoys me when I see it... but I skip right by it.
