have you ever been bullied? as a child? as an adult?
if you saw some one being bullied or treated poorly would you step in?
have you ever heard some one talking about you in a store or other public place?

Re: bullying
have you ever been bullied? as a child? as an adult?
yes, not only was i teased for being chinese, i was also "the fat kid" in elementary school. as an adult, i wouldn't call it "bullied" but i was taken advantage of in the workplace by assigning me more work with no increase in pay. (after i left my previous job, they hired 3 people to replace me, and they aren't caught up yet).
if you saw some one being bullied or treated poorly would you step in?
it depends. if it's something childish, amongst children, yes, i will. if it's something childish amongst adults, i won't. the adults can figure it out.
have you ever heard some one talking about you in a store or other public place?
no, but a friend of mine (in middle school) fwd'd me an email that somebody had mass emailed about me. it wasn't tooooo bad, it said "do you honestly like jennlin? if so, why?"

love all of this but especially the bold part.
have you ever been bullied? as a child? as an adult?
As a child, yes. I was sick and in and out of school a ton, so kids would ask if I had a contagious disease and all sorts of other crap. I remember playing 4 square in fifth grade a boy wouldn't serve the ball to me because he said I would get him sick.
As an adult, just a few workplace incidents. One was at my very first full time job and one of the delivery guys was making fun of me behind my back. I tried so hard not to get upset but I ended up talking to my boss about it. He was reprimanded and then later fired for doing it when I didn't even notice.
if you saw some one being bullied or treated poorly would you step in?
More than likely. I think it would depend on what was going on, though.
have you ever heard some one talking about you in a store or other public place?
Not that I'm remembering right now.

have you ever been bullied? as a child? as an adult?
I was picked on as a kid, mainly because I was quiet and starting growing boobs in 3rd grade. Middle School sucked a lot, but I think MS kids are just harsh in general.
As an adult, I've had people try to intimidate me, but I wouldn't call it bullying. I might only be 5'3", but I do not let people get away with talking sh*t to me. I don't mind being confrontational if I need to be.
if you saw some one being bullied or treated poorly would you step in?
I would only step in if the bullying was targeted to someone who was mentally and/or physically disabled. That is just not okay in my book, EVER.
have you ever heard some one talking about you in a store or other public place?
No, Seattle is too big and spread out for that imo. I hardly ever see anyone I know when I'm out running errands, etc.

On behalf of my people, I'm sorry.
99.9% of the time they don't end up talking about customers (or at least the shops that I've been to.) Most of the time they're talking about their H's and how lazy they are, crazy MILs or things that they need to do.
so you're vietnamese?
fun fact #1. omg, sometimes i'm SURE they're talking about me.. but i just don't care.
i like gina from diamond nails in kirkland. she is the sweetest lady ever.
will you come listen to what my nail ladies are saying? i'm sure it's not bad, but i'm always curious. my mom and i fight right back by only speaking in chinese there lol.

Half. I'm a mutt.
Totally!
I will have to say I'm not very good at speaking, but I can understand way more than I can speak.
cool. did jennlin tell you that this whole time i thought you were adopted? i don't know why i thought you told us that.. or something. i'm awesome...
Hahahaha. Nope, my parents are heeeelllllaaaaa asian.
Did I ever tell you that when I was 14 or so I got really mad at my parents and I stormed out of the house yelling "You're the worst adoptive parents ever! I'm going to find my real parents." For a while after that every time I asked for something that my mom didn't want to get me she'd say, "go ask your real parents, they'd probably get it for you."
To this day my mom still likes to remind me of this story.
i have a similar story. i think i've told you, uw.......i told my parents my real parents were policemen, and that my parents found me in a garbage can. and the explanation that my brother and i look similar, is cause we were found in the same garbage can. my parents also constantly remind me of this story.
sarack, i didn't share, because i didn't want you to feel silly. protecting my girls, even if it's dirt about UW

have you ever been bullied? as a child? as an adult?
Yes. Mostly as a child, starting in 5th grade. The worst was 7th grade when this @$$hole would spend the first part of PE telling me what an ugly btch I was, and then as soon as the activity started, he would find some way to hurt me within the rules of the game. I was terrified the day we had to play "King of the Mat" as you should have seen the evil gleam in his eye. He kneed me in the kidney so hard that I limped the rest of the day. I was also teased mercilessly 6-8th grade because I didn't really have any bewbies to speak of.
if you saw some one being bullied or treated poorly would you step in?
If children up to earlyish teens, probably. Mid- to late teens and adults I wouldn't because I'd be too afraid of getting the isht beat out of me...unless it was a disabled (learning or physical) or elderly, then I would. But at what age does it morph from 'bullying" to "harassment"?
have you ever heard some one talking about you in a store or other public place? Not that I'm aware of.
