Any Ultrasound Experts?

So my brother and his fiance had their anatomy scan today. They are team green and turned away during the scan. They were given a disc with pictures and they let my mom and I look at it first, so they haven't even looked at it yet.

Anyways, the last picture showed the legs, and maybe more. I am having a boy, so I don't really know what girl parts would even look like, but my mom and I both saw this picture and went WHOA. On further thought, and thinking about the angle I'm not sure. We told my brother that it might not be a good idea to look at the disc until we investigated further since he really doesn't want to know.

If it does show the sex or if there is a good chance, he wants us to delete it before his fiance and the rest of the family see it.

So, in your expert nestie opinion, does this picture show the baby's sex-- should I delete it off his disc?

In my so-far-from-an-expert-its-not-even-funny opinion, I would say that clearly shows this baby is a girl. I would delete it.

Not an expert either, but having seem my fair share of penis ... I don't see one in this picture. I wouldn't delete it, but perhaps give them a disc with out it on there and save this for the baby book.

I would take it out. We had pictures of Nora's legs and lower region (and we were team green, too), but the between the legs area was more shaded. Even so, when I posted them on Facebook, one of my friends goes, "You're having a girl?"

I hadn't thought anything of it, since I didn't know the difference (having never had an ultrasound before), but once she mentioned it, I was thinking, "Hmmm. There do not seem to be boy parts there." I was not entirely convinced either way, so my surprise was certainly not ruined, but in this case... I would remove the pic. There is enough there where they could persuade themselves to believe it is a girl--and that sort of ruins the fun of it, and could be quite the shocker if the baby pops out as a boy!

P.S. ChelseyMiller is an ultrasound tech (not for babies, but I'm sure she probably saw a fair share of OB ultrasounds in school?). She doesn't come around here much anymore, but are you friends with her on Facebook? Maybe you could ask her opinion, if you're really looking for an expert. I can send her a link to this thread, if you want.

Thanks, I hadn't thought about Chelsey! I'm not sure if I really need an expert opinion, if enough non-experts think it looks like a girl than it isn't just me who thinks the picture may or may not show too much.

Mostly I am worried about her feelings. His fiance really wants a girl--- he's the one who is gung ho on team green. I think if she has time to really look at the picture she may convince herself it is a girl and then might get a shock if she turns out to be a HE.

I'm no expert, but I would say they're having a girl. I would definitely delete that picture.

I don't post much anymore because the only time I'm on this board is from my phone and it's annoying to post from. I do check the board almost daily though. There is no way to tell the sex of the baby from this pic. It only shows legs and feet, no crotch at all. However, if others think it looks like girl parts then your SIL may too, so you may want to delete it anyway.

Wait, I can't see the left side of the pic from my phone or iPad, so I'm assuming you can see crotch there and it won't let me scroll over so my above comment is probably wrong. If I can get on our Mac book later tonight when DH brings it home I can check it out. Sorry to confuse I just didn't realize half the shot was missing due to formatting.

We had many u/s done on the twins to confirm the sex and none of them really looked like the above pic. But there were none taken at that angle. It looks like the pic is sorta looking down on the baby so that might not even be the crotch? All our money shots were looking from the butt side of the babies and seeing the 3 distinct lines. But, as noticed, many people think it's a girl. So I would just delete it to eliminate any possible confusion or anticipation of a girl if it turns out a boy.

I don't know if it's crotch or not, but if I would automatically say girl looking at this picture. Delete the picture from the disk but you should keep a copy to show them later.

Yea, you have to scroll to see the crotch. I am not an expert, but that looks clearly like a few lines to me which is what I'm told girl parts look like. We were team green too so I can't tell you what our U/S looked like. I'd delete it to be safe.
