**Ranger**

Today I went to JCPenney, Sears, Destination Maternity (a mix of Motherhood, Pea in a Pod and something else), as well as Macy's. I also looked online at JCP and ON and have literally found NOTHING.

I am so frustrated and just need to vent to someone else who understands. I'm already plus sized with big b00bs so that alone means I need at least an XL. Then I'm trying to save money by buying larger so that (hopefully) the stuff will last the entire pregnancy and right now I'm just so frustrated. I've even checked craigslist, ebay, and a local consignment store- nada.

WTH am I going to wear?! lol

Re: **Ranger**

  • I can only understand part of your pain, but I do understand.

While I was pregnant with Zac I lived in some kind of maternity pants, tank tops and cardigans. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on maternity clothes so I would buy cardigans that would fit me after pregnancy too, I also figured with this wardrobe I could by a lot of summer clearance tops/tanks even though I would be pregnant in the winter.

Just my little money saving, maternity wardrobe wearing advice.

Good luck, I'm sure in the end no one will talk smack about you if you're caught in DH's basketball shorts and oversized T-shirt. :)

  • My ON tank tops are already too short! And I'm not that big, lol. I have some Target ones that I think will work, but they are all raggedy so I should probably get some others.

I did your trick a lot with N as well, but I feel like I need *some* other type of shirts! haha

  • Did you just not like the stuff those stores had or do you not think they'll 'grow' enough with you?

I too was going to suggest the very popular open cardigans and shirt underneath (tank/tee/whatever).

ETA: I had a ton of Motherhood's shelf maternity tanks.  Another thought is Lane Bryant.  I have some tanks from there that are very long.

  • Not sure if this will help or not, but I bought a package of colored men's A-line tanks (wife beaters) 2 sizes larger than I normally wear.  They were long enough for the entire pregnancy for me.  I had a lot of trouble finding maternity clothes I thought were worth paying for.....so I took a lot of "short cuts".....I know it wasn't the same issue, but though I'd suggest.

Destination Maternity had the best (well, the only!) selection of anything larger than an XL. The XL's are okay for now but there's not much growing room. 1X is great but it's hard to find... and I'll probably even get some things in a 2X for the end assuming I get bigger than I did with Nolan. But anyway, their summer stuff is very picked over and their fall stuff is still crazy expensive. But even then, there wasn't much I liked with the empire waist or tie-back, etc.

And thanks, I'll check out those tanks!

  • I think Dill mentioned Avenue the other day.  I just discovered them this summer for regular clothes but they have maternity now.

These tanks are cute, and long!  (http://www.avenue.com/clothing/Lace-Trim-Cami.aspx?PfId=239807&DeptId=23411&ProductTypeId=1)

None of their tops have the tie-back, though.  Which, personally I wasn't a fan of and seemed to be all I could find, but I get how important a tie back would be for twins and wanting things to fit for the most months possible!

  • I found several longer maternity shirts at Kohls that I lived in.  Then I ordered 1X sized pants/capris (they could be either) from motherhood's plus size and they lasted and fit great even at the end of the pregnancy when I measured 52 weeks!  They were the secret fit ones.  Those are the only pants that worked.  Shirts I was able to fit in Xl the whole time, and I just tried to find really long shirts, almost like dresses so they would cover my ginormous belly at the end!
  • I really think our stores must just suck then. The ladies on the multiples board also mentioned a lot of these same places and they have NOTHING. :( Our Kohls has one rack of maternity clothes and the XL stuff is tiny.

Really?  My Kohls has a whole maternity section.  I easily have 15 shirts from there!
