Recommend your crockpot please
I really want to use a crokpot this winter but mine has 3 settings High Low and Off.
We are gone way too long during the day to let something cook that long. So I'm looking for one that I can set to run on a timer. Anyone have one they love?
Re: Recommend your crockpot please
I have the Rival that has the same setting as you mentioned and I have not had a problem with it when we are going 8/9 hrs a day.
I have another one where it has warm/low/high/off.
These might work for you since they have timers.

I just have the crock pot brand one, it has warm, low and high, and a time so you can set it for 8 hours and then it will kick to warm. A removable insert is a must it makes cleaning so much easier.
I have had no problems leaving it on all day, that's what they're designed for.

same here. If I was buying again I'd get the one with the lid snaps though for travel (but for the once a year I need to carry it...not huge deal)
I have also heard that the ones with timers sometimes randomly shut off and you come home to half-raw spoiled food.
On the other hand, I think if you freeze your ingredients beforehand, I bet that would extend the 8-9hours to 10-12 and you could get away with setting before you leave.
I have this one and love it!
