I'm growing my hair out but it's going to suck

I like my hair short and all but truthfully, it isn't practical.  It's hard to keep up with, takes longer to do and more maintenance.  I'd been thinking about growing it out and out of the blue DH told me Sunday he likes it better long too *he thinks*

I just want a real pony tail back.  Working out with a "nub" just isn't going well.  However, I really hate growing my hair out.  I just hope it's long enough by the time we go to Disney that it will look decent.  What the heck am I supposed to do with it in the mean time?

  • Have you tried lots of cute headbands?

  • See, I've been wanting to cut my hair again, but have been putting it off until we get through the summer because I need my ponytails right now!

I have no idea what to do with the in between stage.

  • my first thought when i saw your subject was "NOOOO you're hair is so cute on you!" That's seriously what i thought after we hung out. BUT i do understand. i have been growing mine out since February or so. I haven't had a haircut since December... and i am WAY overdue.  however my problem is i cut it short to get away from wearing pony tails all the time, and now since growing it out, all i do is throw it in a ponytail.

but i am lazy! good luck, no suggestions here unfortunately.

  • Aw, thanks!  I like how it looks short but I think I like it better long.  It's just easier for me to do and honestly, with my workout's in the morning now - it just takes too much time to do my hair to where it looks good.  I miss the days of drying and going or drying and a quick curl to the bottom.

  • Cute headbands have been my saving grace...I've been growing my hair for like, two years and am trying desperately not to cut it before it reaches the proper length for donation. I've got a couple of cute ones from Sam Moon that don't hurt my head...but I totally understand on the headband front. Most cute, cute ones do hurt.

I think your hair is awesome short, but after awhile, it probably gets old. :P Hopefully, it's grown out enough by Disney!

  • I hate growing my hair out, but I'm doing it as well.  And yes working out with the nub kinda sux, so I know how you feel.

I love my short hair too, but I get so bored with it because when it's short I can only do that one thing with it. I agree headbands are wonderful thing to keep it out of your face.

But do with it, what you feel most comfortable in and good luck with it no matter what you do.
