I'm going to start charting early next year - probably March-ish (after my next gyn appt.) we want to TTA for a little bit so my body can get adjusted to no bc and the TTC later in the year....did you teach yourself or did you take a class? I sooo want to do it but it makes me nervous at the same time! I've actually been wanting to do it for a while now but just haven't gotten the nerve to start (or teach myself!)
I used fertilityfriend.com and took their online course. It's easy to understand, it's free to chart and take their course (you have to pay for the "advanced stuff" like message boards and all, but I got by without all that) and they have great Q&A forums if you have other questions about things they don't cover in the course. I felt really empowered and knowledgeable about how my body works after I did all that and started charting, and I definitely preferred it over taking BC (just b/c of how it reacted in my body mostly) and we will be using it to TTA after this baby is here and before we are ready for another. Just my 2 cents.
DH and I took an NFP class offered by our diocese. I thought it was very informative, and open to those who aren't Catholic. They explained the Church's view during one class, but all the rest were really just about the science, method, etc. I loved it, because it pretty much told the husbands that they were as responsible for charting working as much as the wives were! We've been doing it the whole year we were married and DH still records my temp for me in the chart!
Sorry to hijack your thread slpmay!
