Re: s/o: non clicky poll: first jobs

What was your first job ever?

I was a 'catering assistant' = dishwasher as my first job.  It did also involve some serving and prep, but mostly washing dishes.  I think that's a great job for a high schooler, makes you want to go to college!

What was your first "grown up" job?

The only other thing I've ever done is work in a lab - I got my first internship the summer before my Sr year in HS and worked there through college, switched labs for two years and then went to grad school.  I always thought it would be fun to be a barista or something though.

ETA: I forgot that I also did a lot of babysitting!

  • I was babysitter extraordinaire for a LONG time.

Then, I got a job at Blockbuster, worked there for a couple years, and then moved on to Office Depot, pulled a second job while in college with Fred Meyer in the deli, and stayed with Office Depot until I was a massage therapist. :)
