Prob a long shot - MN Gopher Ticket Holders?
My husband and I plan on going to the IA/MN game Oct. 29th with 2 other friends and are trying to find the best way to get some tickets. The U of I ticket office is sold out, and MN ticket office only sells them in a package w/ another worthless game which we def won't be going to. I know we could buy them online, but we'd like to get either a better price or better seats than what is currently out there. I'm thinking like $75/ticket??
Does anyone happen to have gopher season tickets and not able to go to the game? Or know anyone in this situation?
Thanks!
Re: Prob a long shot - MN Gopher Ticket Holders?
hmm.. I do see now that ticket prices have come down some - from $100 to $75 or so on the major ticket sites, so that's good. If anyone is still looking at getting rid of theirs b/c they have a wedding or other conflict, let me know and we could still maybe help you out by buying them from you.
Just buy the "pick your pack" that includes Iowa. It's $70 per ticket, which is less than the $75 you'd pay on the secondary market. You'd get tickets to the Iowa game, plus either the Miami or New Mexico State game.
You could always sell the tickets to the game you won't attend to make some money back. Even if you don't sell the tickets to the "worthless game", you're still paying less than buying on the secondary market so you're not losing anything.
If you do decide to buy on the secondary market, make sure you're not buying student tickets. Some students try to make money by selling their tickets to big games, but you have to show a current UofM ID to use the student tickets. If you pay for student tickets and show up at the game with those tickets but no student ID, you will not be able to get into the game.

I was kind of confused by the MN ticket website, it said that IA tickets were $70, but then also said they were only available as the "pick your pack" option, which started at $95. I think that means you can only get them for $95, which is a little more than we want to spend, especially for what is almost certain to be upper deck seats.
That is a good heads up about the student tickets, I hadn't thought about that. Any clue where the student section is so I can be weary of that? The tickets we were looking at were in the lower section at one of the corners, which is often a student section area, but it was on the visitor side, and I would guess they'd put the student section on the home side?
The student area is in the end zone on the east end of the stadium. Here's a map that shows the student sections ... it's the sections in bright yellow.
Upper level tickets are not bad. That's what you'd get ordering through the Iowa ticket office. There aren't really bad seats in TCF Bank Stadium ... it's a decent view from almost any seat. I wouldn't want to sit in sections 101-105, 145-152 or 201-205, just because you can't really see the giant scoreboard from there, the scoreboard is just to the side or in back of those seats. The view of the field is still great, though.
