Feels good to get that off my chest
I told both of my bosses that I do not plan on coming back after the baby is born. It feels so good to get that out and let them know.
I have not had a break in employment since I was 15, so this will be a huge change!

Re: Feels good to get that off my chest
I third this sentiment. As a manager, a working mom and a fellow woman, this is the right way to do it and I thank you for having the courage to do so. More women need to step up and handle it this way, in my opinion.
I'll Fifth (sp?) this! Enjoy your time home with LO! I so wish I was able to stay at home after Wyatt was born.
OK I am not going to "sixthed" the above (though i do commend you), but I am going to "second" Kristin&Kelly's comment about wishing she could stay home after Wyatt was born.
I hate that things like this ruin credibility (not to mention ML benefits) for the rest of us. It really makes me angry and frustrated. I'm not usually a raging feminist, but I feel like my bra-burning side comes out when this comes up.
Thanks again for being upfront and honest with your employer.
Personally I have no problem with a woman changing her mind if she is willing to return to work temporarily (as her employer was banking on) to wrap up anything and/or train her replacement if needed as well as paying back any ML benefits.
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

I could not imagine doing this. When I left FCCJ two years ago, they were fully aware that I did not intend to return. I guess I could understand if someone really did have intentions of going back, but had a change of heart during leave.
