another mspi baby I think

Going on Elecare formula again (bye bye money). This sucks because my bewbies are actually working this time - but I know I cant do the whole exclusion diet. Poor Ben is getting that bad dipe rash, crying during feeding, has watery poops, and painful bad gas - just like Owen had. *sigh*

Anyone need some breastmilk? Wink WTF do I do with it??

Re: another mspi baby I think

  • Nobody wants milk with meds. I've tried. Everyone who is hardcore enough to be looking for milk turns their nose up when they know it is anything more than an organic vegan that grows their own food diet. But it's worth asking on https://www.facebook.com/EatsonFeetsNE and https://www.facebook.com/pages/Human-Milk-4-Human-Babies-Nebraska/174772492568979. Or you could just save it for dooms day. Freeze dry it and add it to your stash.   Stick out tongue

I hope Ben's belly is able to chill out. That sounds pretty uncomfortable.

  • Were you able to try Nutramigen first?  A little cheaper, but yeah, that stuff is expensive.  Hopefully he can also get on some meds to feel better.  B had it awful, I've never been so stressed as I was dealing with his horrible reflux (and him holding his breath during an episode).  :(  Hope he feels better soon!  You could always store your milk until he's a little bigger and maybe he'll outgrow the mspi.  B outgrew it around 6 months and we moved him to Gentlease.
  • Have you spoken to a lactation consult yet?  They might want to rule out a hind milk/foremilk imbalance.  You may need to pump/express a little then nurse so the baby gets the creamier milk.
  • I'd try Nutramigen before Elecare... it's still $22/can, but its a little cheaper. Have you talked to the pedi yet?  I freaking hate feeding issues.. ugh!

Can you get Elecare online for cheaper?  I know we did Neocate for Mara for a few days until I could get the peanuts/treenuts/eggs out of my system (all the girls had MSPI from the get go) and it was wayyyyy cheaper online by the case.

    Boo, that stuff is money!!

  • Ugh- I'm sorry! I hated paying for Elecare. I used to order it from abbottstore by the case.
