ugh, Freecycle vent
I am convinced there are people on my local Freecycle who are just total vultures and have nothing better to do than sitting there checking the page 10,000 times a day and then swooping in and grabbing everything that pops up even if they can't use it. I am just pissy because I have missed out on several good baby items that appeared to be really nice and would have been great since we are doing this baby's room on a rather limited budget. They were taken almost as soon as they were offered.
The reason I suspect its these few people is because EVERY time I offer something, no matter what it is, I get the same few people replying almost instantly that they want it. So I am sure that they are either a) hoarders, or b) turning around and selling the stuff to try to attempt to make a little cash. I know I shouldn't complain about free stuff, but people are bastards.

They busted someone in the last few months for doing this on the Annapolis list. So I would hope that for every 4 people who are trolling the freecycle site constantly, there is also some FC enforcer psycho who is also cross-referencing FC w/ CL.
Have you ever posted a wanted ad? I have successfully posted them in the past- not for huge things, but still, and I have replied to them for stuff like a desk, breast pump, cloth diapers, etc.
What kind of baby stuff do you need?
As of right now we need a glider & ottoman and a dresser. I don't care if the dresser is all busted because I will prob paint or refinish it anyway. I've posted several wanted ads on mine from time to time....I never get any response.
What color glider & ottoman?
We have one we should give back to the family that gave us 95% of our baby stuff (I never used the glider and when I saw a cool mid-century rocker, I bought it) - it's white w/ green cushions. I will see if they really want it back.
I feel like gliders are one of those things that people have a tough time off-loading when the time comes.
Preferably like a cream color since i haven't totally decided what color the room will be. I know I will use it a ton because I literally used Sean's until it fell apart and we had to take it to the dump (it was old to begin with though). I dont mind buying one off CL, like $50 is really NBD, but when I saw one on FC I really really wanted it. I can't stomach spending like $200-400 on a new one. Yeah-if you happen to come across a cheapie that meets that description please let me know!

I have a dresser that I'm trying to give away if you want to drive to Laurel and pick it up.
It is 4 drawers and about 4 feet tall. If you also want to use it as a changing table, it probably woudn't work being so tall. The rail for one of the drawers came off (I think the rail is still in there though, but I might have thrown it away), but the drawer still slides in and out without a problem. And it could use a cleaning or painting. It is a dark cherry color. If you think you might be interested, I could take a picture.
