Thank you ladies!!

Don't post on here very often but I have to say thank you to all the ladies on this board for all their stories and advice!  My FI and I got the keys to our first, hopefully only, house today and I couldn't have gotten through it without all the good advice on here.  So thanks!!!

  • The house is a 3BR/2BA, 1500 sq feet, built in the mid eighties on a wonderful little court. We think it's the perfect balance between needing some upgrading but no major work that needs to be taken on. We're planning our wedding this year so we didn't want a huge renovation project to deal with as well. The upgrading is all stuff that can be done gradually to make the house our own. The one piece of advice I would give from our experience is I will be using whatever mortgge company my realtor recommends next time around. We used someone we got in contact with on the first house we offered on and it was a nightmare. Looking back now I wish we had gone with who our realtor recommended as she had worked with her on multiple occasions and knew what kind of service we would have received. I know people are leery about using the mortgage company their realor recommends but we definitely will be in the future. Also, make sure if you're not comfortable with the realtor you chose that you pick a different one! We switched after about a month and I keep telling me FI it was the best decision he ever made! Good luck to all the house hunters out there!!!
