Circuit Machine worth it?
I really really want one of these, but I don't really know why, I saw somewhere someone used it to cut letters out to put on glass jars.
Are they worth the money? It looks like a pretty big range. What is the best?

I love mine! I've made so many things with mine...birthday banners, valentine's cards for dd's preschool class, scrapbook things, etc. It's fun.
Other girls on here like other cutting machines that aren't based on a cartridge system like the cricut.
I use mine ALL THE TIME. Just wait until Black Friday if you wanna get the big daddy machine - the expression. Walmart has some great sales on it; that's when I got mine and it was very cheap.
Also, I don't use mine to it's full potential. I don't have a place to keep it, so it stays in my closet. If I had a place where I could keep it out (Like in a craft room!!!!! In my dreams...) I'd probably use it more.

First of all, check out the FAQ, it has some great info.
I have enjoyed mine when I first got it. I was lucky enough to get 3rd party software to not be limited to cartridges before PC sued those software companies. I only have a personal so I've been wanting a larger machine and PC has left a bad taste in my mouth. So my advice is to do your research. Contrary to what PC wants you to think there are far superior machines out there that don't limit you to expensive cartridges. A lot of girls on here have Silhouettes and REALLY like them. You are limited to a small cutting width with the SD, but they are coming out with a new machine with a larger cutting surface. Some of the other cutting machines can be more pricey, but I've heard they are far better than the Cricut. So again, look around, read reviews and think about the limitations of each machine.
Under a Cherry Tree has great reviews of other machines. (And she used to use a Cricut)
And FYI, I'm probably gonna get a Zing.

I have a pazzles and it's great but now I am looking at this Zing machine thanks to Saxgrl I loved the idea of the Cricut imagine but hate cartridges so this looks awesome. It would have been a huge help with some crafting projects like thank you tags from my wedding - although I was able to print from the Pazzles software, it didn't EXACTLY line up on the cutting mat so I wasted a few sheets until I got it right.
What other print/cutting combo machines exist - does anyone know?
I use my SIlhouette to print and cut.
CRAFTY ME
my read shelf:
I started out with a Cricut Expression but it is now collecting dust on my desk. I recently purchased a Silhouette SD because it seemed to be a better and more accurate cutter plus I really wanted to start working with the print and cut. I use my Sil all the time and never even touch my Cricut anymore.
I have Make the Cut, a third party software program, which works with both the Sil and the Cricut (with the Cricut you have to have the folder that has the plug in for it) which I bought last year before all the drama came down with Provo Craft. I don't have to buy carts and never have. I use either free SVG files or purchase them for low prices.
If you want a simple machine that you can throw a cart in and cut something then the Cricut is for you. It's not the best at cutting and doesn't do a great job on cutting intricate and/or small designs but it's easy to use. You will spend a ton on carts though.
If you want the option to use any font, any image go with a better machine such as the Silhouette (which is out of production but still out there) or some other machine. There's quite a few out there and a few were mentioned here. Another brand is Black Cat.

I was not aware that the Silhouette prints...!
ETA - Does it require special or expensive ink cartridges? I wonder what the ones for the Zing will be like...I know that was another problem with the Cricut Imagine - the ink carts were $$$$$
The Silhouette itself does not print, however the print/cut feature works in conjunction with your own printer. The software prints to your printer and adds guidelines so that when you feed it into the Silhouette it knows exactly where to cut and is very accurate.

Oh ok Pazzles does the same already - my excitement was premature!
I have 2. I have the personal cutter and the expression and I LOVE THEM BOTH!!
They cut everything I need for my scrapbook/card making. The only downside is that the cartridges are expensive. Well most of them to say the least.
