Stolen from ML, weird things you did as a kid

Okay the thread on married life had me laughing so hard that my dog was wondering if I was okay, so I thought we could do it here to liven up the board.  So, what weird things did you do as a kid?

My older brother, younger sister, and I made up a game called "Fat Pig."  One person, usually our sister because we made her, had to be the fat pig and run on all fours to tag the other two.  We would run from one end of the house to the other, and the couches were the safe area.  When the fat pig tagged both people, the game would start over.  I have no idea why we called it Fat Pig.

I used to mix my vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup together to make a soft-serve type thing, and I called it my medicine.

I ate my corn on the cob one row at a time.

When I was home alone in middle school, I would grab my Jessica Simpson cd, put it in the living room player, blast it, and sing at the top of my lungs while making up dramatic gymnastics routines to her songs.

  • Me, my twin, and a friend would play "Spice Girls." For some reason "Baby Spice" always got to be pretend married to Jonathan Taylor Thomas! *swoon*

    I did this!
Looking back I was such a strange kid and most of what I did would take forever to explain. My best friend and I were obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer when we were younger and we used to pretend our Beanie Babies were the characters and have little weddings for them and I would make the wedding cakes in my Easy Bake oven.

  • I used to play banker with Monopoly money.  I'd pretend my animals were customers coming in for loans and I'd listen to all of their requests and would reject or approve their loan request.  I used to pretend that I'd reject a lot of them and the girl stuffed animals would cry.  Sometimes I'd feel bad and change my mind.  I don't know where I got this from...

Whenever I was given an ice cream cone, I'd always bite the bottom of the cone out and try to eat the ice cream as fast as I could.  I never ate it fast enough though and it'd run all over all my clothes and my arms.  I don't know why I didn't just eat it from the top.

  • This is ironic, but all my baby dolls had a twin.  To the point where my parents bought them in twos.  I named them things like Tracey and Stacey, MIchael and Michelle, etc.  Always matching.  For the record, my twins middle names are matchy.  I'm ok with you judging me for that :)

I used to do the ice cream soup too.  I still do!

I was ULTRA boy crazy.  I met my lifelong bff (we're no longer bff's sadly) because we fought over a boy in 1st grade.

When I was two, my dad and I were in walmart and I yelled at the top of my lungs "Daddy, I have a BAGINA!"  My dad was mortified and still hates to tell that story.

Pee Wee's playhouse was a BIG fave at our house.  My brother and I spent hours perfecting our Pee Wee impressions.

I was rainbow bright 3 years in a row for Halloween.  I refused to give it up but it eventually it got too small. My obsessive behavior started early.

Man I miss being a kid.

  • When I got mad, I would bite myself or a bar of soap. So we couldn't keep bars of soap in the house and now seeing a bar of soap makes me mad!

    I

I'm a twin and my sister and I have matchy first names. No judgment here. :)

  • I used to run around the house with a towel, sheet or blanket fix to my head with a head band so I could pretend to have long hair like Cher or Chrystal Gale.  I would even swing it side to side while singing songs and pretending I was on stage.
  • I use to do a ton of funny/weird things when I was little.

The best... My sister and I use to put bologna down our shirts to cool off in the summer.

I use to hide from my mother in stores. My favorite spot was always in the middle of a clothes rack. I can't tell you the number of times my mom had to page me over the intercom. The sick thing is, I would wait until I could tell she was super scared she lost me or someone snatched me before I'd come out. She would be so happy I was alive she wouldn't be mad.

My sister and I always made up stupid games using play dough, play grocery store and house.  We always had the most fun using the sink for a barbie pool party. We also had a massive box of McDonalds toys that gave us endless entertainment.

  • lol! Awww, y'all sound like you were fun, cute kids!

When my brother and I were little, in the summertime my mom put one of those little oscillating fans on the dresser in our room and we used to think the very center of it..where the label was or whatever..was an eyeball and every time the fan turned towards our beds we'd pretend to be asleep so it wouldn't see us..when it turned back the other way we'd be like "You can open your eyes now, it's not looking at us!...Oh, no, it's turning back around!"

When I was 4 or 5 my friend and I would sit at the end of my driveway and make a bunch of little piles of sand with one little rock on top of each and pretend that we were making cupcakes.

When I was 9 I ate spaghetti with red sauce for dinner and an hour later threw it up all over my parent's bright white bedding while watching Are You Afraid of the Dark?

And speaking of stains...one time I spilled chocolate milk all over the couch cushions (we weren't allowed to drink or eat in the living room) so I flipped them all over and my mom didn't find the stains for months. She immediately blamed my brother and I got off scot-free. =)

  • Omg this is so cute! I love thinking of the stuff I used to do as a kid.

One thing DH likes to bring up all the time is how my sister and I played 'unicorn princesses' lol, thats what he calls it, my sister and I liked to pretend we had horses or unicorns and we were princesses, lol.

Another thing we tried to do was sell rocks when we were kids, in our little group of houses, wasnt even big enough to be called a village, but we thought we could make some money, lol, we didnt.

We also used to put necklaces and sunglasses on our dog, he just sat there and loved the attention, lol, I love seeing pictures of it now.

  • LOL this is great... Let me start off by saying... I guess I was weird! hahah!

Growing up in the living room we had this HUGE mirror above the couch, and as soon as my mom would leave us home alone, we would get the syrup and put it on the mirror... Why???? I have no idea!!!  but of course we couldn't get it clean enough and it would be covered in streaks.

We would also take a spool of thread and tie it to a door knob and race thru the house tieing and looping it all over the place at all different hights, like spiderwebs, or like trip wires/ lasers out of a james bond movie, as soon as we would see my parents pull up we would race thru the thread breaking it as we ran, and quickly balling it up and throwing it away.  We would end up with paper like cuts all over our legs LOL

We had this fat taby cat named sparky, best cat ever!!  He was like my baby, and I would dress him up and push him in my doll stroller all over the back yard and he let me!  Poor thing!! LOL

    The crazy things we did!

  • I was/am obsessed with Gone With the Wind.

I would take a sheet, wrap it around my waist and pin a hoola hoop in the bottom of it to make a hoop skirt and pretend I was Scarlett O'Hara. hahaha

    This is great!

I just have to add one more.  I would play the soundtrack from The Lion King in the backyard and do my best tumbling to impress the boy who lived two doors down.  I don't think I was as good as I thought I was.

  • I would name my babydolls things like Light, Chair, Cabinet, Flashlight.  Yup. LOL

I would put the empy milk cartons, soda bottles, and cereal boxes in a circle...they were my students.  I apprently didn't have enough babydolls (or at least ones with heads since my older brothers would de-head them to make me mad...grrrrr) to make a full class. haha  That's not at all embarrassing....

  • There was this glue that I would smear on the back of my hand, blow on it until it dried, and then try to peel it off all in one piece.

I'd go around the back yard picking weeds and random berries and make "salads" for the rabbits.

My brother and I had a variety of weird things we did. We'd would jump on the trampoline and pretend we were Pokemon masters, tie a skateboard to the back of a bike and take turns pulling each other around the neighborhood, played "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"- he was King Arthur and I was Patsy. At one point we were playing superheroes and we tied towels around our necks, and jumped out of the upstairs window, twice. He fractured his ankle the second time, I was fine. We always had the best times.
