in Atlanta is DragonCon it's the second largest Sci-fi, comic, movie convention after ComicCon in San Diego. People come from all over dressed up as Alice in Wonderland to Spiderman and everything in between. I just got a text from my friend who works downtown that ate lunch next to a storm trooper. Saturday is a huge parade and it's always fun to see all the costumes.
It's fun to people watch especially since it's also the start of the college football season. Seeing the confused football fans out about who have never heard of this is always hysterical.
Below are some google images. It really is an anything goes kind of event.
Re: So this weekend..
Stormtrooper in a kilt, I love it.
We just had FanExpo here and saw a guy driving a comic store van in a Spiderman outfit on the highway.
I love being nerdy.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Two of my friends will be there this weekend. I've been teasing them for weeks.
I was so confused when ComicCon was in town - I went to get on a bus and there were all these costumes, I had no idea what was going on.
My cousin is one of the staff photographers for DragonCon... she loves it! this year is the 25th anniversary too, so I'm sure it'll be a huge turn out!
We have something similar in Baltimore, but I think it's more like anime characters than comic book characters.

Wow, that looks pretty fun! Something Eddie would totally love to go to; he is such a comic book nerd.
You'll have to come to Atlanta one year, It's every labor day.
