So B can now roll over from back to front. And does, as soon as we lay him down to sleep. So of course I am nervous about him sleeping on his stomach at only 4 months old. Please give me some words of wisdom/encouragement so I don't stay up all night staring at him!
And yes, I am aware that we were all put on our stomachs to sleep and are just fine....but "back is best" has been drilled into me.
Re: BWLO: Stomach Sleeping
From what I understand, once they've mastered rolling back and forth there is very little you can do. You're not going to go in and move him back all the time, kwim? It's scary, but he's clearly strong enough to re-position himself if needed. Hey, he may even sleep better/deeper now that he can get onto his tummy
ETA: Oh, and you will likely worry for a few nights but get over it
Be happy that he learned both and not just back to tummy. My sister is dealing with that now - my niece eventually rolls onto her tummy, sleeps for a while and then wakes up and screams b/c she can't get back over. All.Night.Long!
Natalie was the same way-- a stomach sleeper from the start, and still is. I was also very worried, so I bought an angel monitor that alarms if she stops breathing so I could have some peace. Best investment ever for my peace of mind. Honestly though... if he can roll on his own, he would likely be able to roll in the event of not being able to breath. That said, I personally wasn't able to sleep even given that rationale, so the investment in the monitor was worth it for us. I completely understand the dilemma!
This! The Angel Care Monitor was by far my best baby investment.

If it means better quality of sleep for the family, in turn making a happier awake family - you just gotta let some things happen.
I just would make sure to remove everything from the crib, dress 'em in fitting, yet warm pajamas and let him do his thing. Usually SIDS involves 2 or more "bad" sleep habits. Example: A blanket and stomach sleeping.

Landon sleeps way better on his tummy, but I never put him there. I lie him on his back and he rolls over in like 2 seconds.
