Who was annoyed at Pinterest? rock n voll?
Rock n voll, was it you who was annoyed that it made you log in with Facebook? My account lets me log in with a regular username and password. Have you tried having someone send you an invite from the site? I can try that if you haven't already (because you totally need to come waste time on there with us). I totally agree with the annoyance about sites forcing you to use your FB or Twitter logins.

Yes, that was me! I actually exchanged emails with one of their reps a few months ago and at the time she said there was no way to sign up without a FB or Twitter account. Looks like maybe they finally changed that!
The invite I had doesn't seem to work anymore. If one of you guys wants to send me one, that'd be great

Gah, fail! I used your link (thanks!) and it goes to a page that says "Congratulations! You've been invited to join Pinterest." Then the two options are (1) Sign up with Facebook or (2) Sign up with Twitter. So, so dumb.
I suspect once you sign up with/link to one of those two that Pinterest then lets you create a direct login for their site. I know I can unlink once I sign up, but my FB is on complete lockdown and I don't let any third-party apps connect to it, ever. And signing up for a Twitter account just to access Pinterest is annoying.
So, I guess still no Pinterest for me. Thanks, all, for trying though!
Ugh, so annoying. I dunno why they do this if you can later sign in with just a regular log-in. I hate the infiltration of FB too - a lot of places force you to sign in with them. I hope they fix this soon.
What about requesting an invitation directly through Pinterest (which is how I got on)? Do you think maybe that will allow you to sign up without FB or Twitter?
I tried that before, too, but no dice.

Really? I've always just been able to log directly on to Living Social.
I just checked again and I can definitely log in w/o Facebook. Maybe your account just needs time to reset?

I noticed that today FB was posting all my pins in my news feed, so I revoked pintrest's access to my account. And I emailed pintrest telling them that those need to be separate. Maybe if enough people complain...
But I feel ya (obviously, since I revoked access.)
I separated my Pinterest and FB accounts too and don't allow it to post to my FB feed. I find it really annoying when other sites want to broadcast everything else I do online on my Facebook page. Really? Does everyone I'm friends with need to know I booked that hotel or bought that movie ticket? Annoying.
