B*tch post

I feel like b*tching. We are going to a wedding tomorrow that starts around 3:45pm and is in a place more than two hours away  from here. Instead of taking the train and having lunch at the place so I can get ready, we are going (5 of us) with BIL in his unairconditioned car that is tiny even with 4 ppl in it.  We will have 3 really tall men, plus me, im (5'10) , and another girl. I am supposed to do my hair before leaving in the morning and we are leaving at noon! Did I mention that I often get carsick? 5 ppl in one tiny unairconditioned vehicle??? wtf honestly, the thought of it makes me want to cry because if I get carsick, I will feel like crap the entire afternoon. Feel free to add your friday morning b*tching to this thread,  I'm all ears! (or eyes??)

Re: B*tch post

  • Myblueangel - that sucks!  Whose crappy idea was that?  Any chance you can talk to your husband and talk him out of it?  Linger on the parts of how crappy you will feel (and by extension how crappy he will feel).

I'm actually glad you wrote this...I was going to do something similar, although mine is more snarky.  Someone on the travel board is asking about what else there is to do in Aruba as it's their third trip.  I've never been to Aruba, but my first thought was "go somewhere else for vacation."  I get returning to places you love, but then presumably you have a reason for returning and aren't asking people what else there is to do there because last time you basically saw everything you can think of.  I know it's lame, unhelpful and b*tchy though, so I'm not replying.

ha! I tried this last night. But H is really excited to do a road trip with his brothers. Originally it would have been 3 of us, which is doable, and we would have arrived 3 hours before the wedding so we could shower after the car ride and I  would have had time to get over the carsickness. BIL changed the plans to eat brunch at 10h30 at his place before leaving, meaning that by the time the wedding starts, I will not have eaten for more than 5 hours. I will be even more cranky  and b*tchy than I am right now. And for good measure, why is there not an emoticon for b*tchy?

  • myblue, that sounds miserable.  Will they give you the front seat?  I get super carsick too and being in a car w/o AC is the worst.  I'd sit in the front with the window down the whole time.  It's either that or having to stop several times to throw up.

  • H has been getting on my nerves the last 2 nights and I've been a major B*tch to him.  I think I'm bitter that he gets to go play football after work while I'm at home all day chasing around Will..
  • Blueangel... yeah, I would probably go on the train on my own in that situation, it sounds totally miserable. Now that I'm never in a car, when I am I immediately get carsick. It really does ruin the entire day! I hope you can find a solution...

I am pretty whiny in general right now. I feel absolutely terrible and I am totally useless. All I do is whine about feeling horrible and take tons of naps, it's pathetic. I cannot get motivated to work out so I'm feeling even worse. I'm just a bit of a disaster right now!

I'm pretty sure I slept ALL day in my 1st trimester.  My energy came back in the 2nd.  Whining is totally acceptable in your situation!

Oh yes.  Take the train.  He gets to do the road trip with his brothers, you get a comfortable ride and he gets to pick up a smiling happy wife at the train station instead of having a sick sweating ball of mess to deal with all afternoon.

I agree with this!  It just sounds like SUCH a miserable situation that I honestly don't think I could do it without getting seriously pissed off at DH for putting me though it.  So it's probably a better idea for everyone if you just train it with your iPod, magazines, snacks, and whatever else you need to relax on the way.

Pitt:  Allow yourself the laziness and try not to feel too bad about it.  I remember in my first tri all I felt like doing was lying in bed all day.  You deserve the break (as many as you want)!

I'm doing a similar road trip tomorrow.  Just 2 hours away, but with me being pregnant I'm going to insist on being in the front seat most of the way.  If I were to sit in the back I'd be squished up against SIL and MIL who, thankfully, are very tiny and usually fall asleep after 10 minutes in a car.  However, I'm pretty tall and bigger now that I'm 7 months pregnant and I remember last time we did a road trip I got a terrible backache from being squished in the back...yeah, I'm pulling the pregnancy card.

I replied to it.  I didn't even know/care about things to see in Aruba.  I don't get going back there for a 3rd time unless her H has just recently taken out a big life insurance policy on her.

Heh, I like your answer.  Glad I'm not the only person who doesn't get why they are going back.

  • Could you just go on the train on your own, cause honestly, that is what I would do.  Send my DH with who he wanted to go with and then do my own thing - cause throwing up on someone is not my idea of a fun way to start the party.
