Make The Cut Help

Has anyone been able to work with their Cricut if they downloaded or updated after March 16th. It had been a while since I used my MTC and now since the lawsuit the new version obviously doesn't have the plug in and I am trying to undo the damage that installing on a new computer did. I do not have access to the laptop that had the older version on it because it crashed. Can anyone help or am I SOL?

Thanks!

Re: Make The Cut Help

  • If you are installing the newest version then no, you cannot use it with your Cricut.  If you updated then the plugins from the old version stayed.  The plugins are in a folder within the MTC file.  I hear it can be found on the internet.  I personally have not verified this but I know since it's just a folder that has the plugins in it, that it's very easy to put it on the internet somewhere.

  • If you reinstall it from your original order # I think it should be ok. I couldn't remember my order number, but they emailed it to me by giving them the email address I used when I bought it.  I wanted to check the plugin and email it to my self so (I'm using Windows7 and this may be different for you) go under Programs X86 (not just Programs) and click on MTC folder then click the plugins folder and see if PCCPlugin is listed.  If not and you don't have a backup, then you are probably SOL.  I updated my MTC software, but emailed the plugin to my email address just in case and everything was fine! I was able to update without haveing to worry about the plugin since it kept it.  The MTC forums really helped me figure all this out so you could also go there and search.

So let this be a lesson to all who use 3rd party software for your Cricut....or for anything you don't want to lose.....BACK IT UP!
