We just got invited to a wedding in Brazil
At the end of October. The bride felt the need to explicitly tell us in her email that it is not a shotgun wedding, haha!
I really want to go but have to figure out all the logistics and costs now. And get a visa, ugh.

I'm not sure what the deal is. They've been dating for a while but I don't get to talk to my friend that often because she's always traveling to some exotic country or other for work and is hard to nail down. I don't know why it's all happening so quickly. Part of it might just be because she's in her mid-30s and just wants it done already.
That sounds fun! I hope you can make it work.
Where in Brazil is it?
The wedding is in Sao Paulo but they're doing a few days in Rio first.
I need to find a way to make this happen. She was one of my party buddies and it would be a fun last hurrah. I probably would never go to Brazil without her since it can be a scary place w/o a native escort, at least from what she's told us in the past. And neither DH nor I have ever been to South America so it'd be fun to check another continent off the list!
That's exciting!! I hope you're able to make it work out - short notice and all. What a good excuse to travel somewhere that might not otherwise make your list of places to visit.
