I really think it would be nice to have a board dedicated to renting!  A lot of us don't have the means to purchase our own homes yet, or simply don't want to! :)

    Agreed! Renting and selling! Buying a home is the last thing on my mind but it's the only place to ask my questions...LOL.

    I think that if we were to isolate all three (buying, selling, renting) into their own boards, most would not generate the amount of traffic needed to support conversation.  Many of us have history with buying, selling and renting (and being landlords) so, at least for me, one board makes more sense.

    This board is slow as molasses as it is. Please just post everything here. Landlords, sellers, buyers... We see them all and respond. Having another slow board that no one checks is a waste of time.

    Yeah, that's very true. It's a slow board as it is! Maybe just re-name it Real Estate or something.

    Thank you all for your suggestions.  I agree that by separating the boards too much won't generate enough traffic to your posts.  I think everyone has experience with a lot of different housing situations.  Renaming the board might be a better option. I'll pass on your suggestions to Bump Kathleen though!

    Rent laws vary state by state and city so the answer to almost every question would be "look up your local laws"
