Vent! Got a Cricut Expression and can't get it to cut!!

I have tried playing with the blade lowering and raising it, chaging pressure etc and all it does is score the paper.  Its not cutting it.  Peeved big time!

Re: Vent! Got a Cricut Expression and can't get it to cut!!

  • Did you take the cover (blue?) off the blade before inserting it? Is the blade inserted correctly? What number is the dial on the blade housing set on?
  • The blade comes with a little rubber tip on it.  It sounds like you didn't take it off.  Lots of newbies do that.

  • I have been using the smaller cricut for a while and just moved up to the expression this summer.  I played with it once and could not get it to do more than score the paper.  I really want it for my DD's birthday party stuff but I don't have time to fuss with it if it won't cut.  I will pull it out tonight and tell you what all my dials are set on.

  • Is the blade in upside down?

  • I got it to work!  I increased the pressure to High and set speed higher and it eventually took off.  It seems like the blade was dull or something because they first few cuts were rough!! It has since improved so we're all good.  I have been cutting out Sesame Street characters for 2 days.  Cute but assembling is a huge PITA!
