It must be a crazy lack-of-sun related thing that I hardly drink any tea March-September, but once the weather gets below 50, something happens to my brain and I love nothing more than to curl up with a nice hot mug.
While we were in Buffalo two weeks ago I discovered this store Teavana. It's amazing, it has all different kinds of loose-leaf tea, and a large collection of the most beautiful cast-iron teapots. The store smells amazing and there are at least 5 different kinds of tea at any given point that you can sample.
I just found out there's one in the mall right by me. I'm gonna go there in a week or so and stock up for when fall comes :-)
Re: Tea drinkers...
That shop always give free samples!! :-)
Oh you would probably love these restaurants in my area!
One is called the English Rose, and it's like being in an old granny's closet; full of tea cozies, pictures of the Royals throughout the years, and they serve traditional English tea fare....bangers and mash, quiches, scones with clotted cream, etc...and they always have the best veg soups! http://www.theenglishrose.biz/
Then the other one is in SF, and it's called Samovar, and they serve different tea meals...like Russian, Chinese, English, etc. http://samovarlife.com/
Check out the sites and try not to drool...
My Blog
I love all of the warm foods and drinks the cooler weather brings!! I've always been a big afternoon/evening tea drinker, but in the last few years I definitely wait until Fall/Winter to have it. Teavana is such a cute store too!
This year I plan on really learning how to make soups. I've only ever made a couple, but I'm so excited to try different recipes and store some in the freezer. I have a huge pile of recipes I'm planning on trying already!!
I was truly disappointed when I opened this thread and saw that it was about hot tea. Apparently I'm way way more Southern than I thought because the only kind of tea I like is iced tea. Let me rephrase that: I like iced tea with a bucket of sugar in it. Sweet tea baby!
My younger sister dated a guy from England a few yeas ago, so she got into drinking hot tea with honey or milk. Swears by it.
Do the creep.
Lol, sorry about that. Any tea that can be drank hot can also be iced. I can't do the southern sweet tea though, just too much sugar. I love putting milk in my earl grey, sooo good.
