This is the idea I'm going for, simple sayings to make onsies for my friends.  I'm trying to do it the freezer paper stencil way but wondering if I'm making it more difficult or something?

  • that looks screen printed.  It wouldn't be too hard to do it with freezer paper (esp with a die cutter) but the more letters you use that have holes in the center the bigger the PITA because you have to iron the centers individually.

  • I agree that does look screen printed. You could do it with freezer paper, just will take some time because you want to make sure when you iron that every thing is straight.

I wonder if you could use iron on paper and just design it in word or some other program and then print on your computer and iron it on. I have some iron on paper that you can print on and I am thinking about doing that for a halloween onesie.

  • Definitely screen printed- although, you could manage something similar with a stencil if you're methodical. It would be a PITA to do more than one with freezer paper, though- I'd go ahead and make up a screen instead. There are tons of ways to do screen printing at home, inexpensively, and it's definitely better when you want to repeat designs, or have a very detailed design.
  • The SIlhouette cutting machine can make iron ons with a kit they sell.  You can design the graphic in their program and cut it out on iron on material.

  • If you already have a machine that can cut, you should use heat vinyl.  It comes in a rainbow of colors, you cut it like normal vinyl only you have to flip your image before cutting, cut, weed.  Then you iron it on!  Easy peasy!
