Whew!

Life is good but totally crazy. I wanted to pop in and thank you guys for the vibes and well wishes. School started on Wednesday and it seems like everything with the license will be worked out. I will very likely have to take some classes and get certified in this state as soon as possible. That will be a really tough schedule, but it will only benefit me in the long run so I don't mind.

Getting hired a week before school started would be hard enough, but the department of education here is crazy intense! They are starting a new evaluation system where I'll have to write all these papers about how to improve and have at least four observations this year. I keep reminding myself that this is the job I've always wanted and if I can get through this year, I can get through anything.

One big bonus, we finally found a great place to live. We thought we'd have to get a winter rental and deal with summer later. This is a summer town so rent can go up by as much as 4000 a month in summertime. My mom heard about a place from their neighbor. The landlords just want a little extra income and not to have to find new tenants every summer. So we'll be living in a 3 bedroom, 2 floor apartment for the same price we would have paid for our tiny little place in Boston. So excited for all the room!

Hope everyone is doing well. I wish I could keep up with the board more, but not till things settle. 3 days down, 177 to go!

  • I have heard that the first year of teaching is always the hardest.  But you got the job, so awesome.  And super jealous that you have ALL that space.
