*T&P for texas - fire

there are a LOT of fires in and  around my hometown in texas... dont know what sparked it but because of the 30-40 mph winds, the fires keep spreading. My parents were notified by the fire dept to prepare to evacuate. please send T&P to all the families affected by the fires and to those fighting the fires. it's making my stomach sick. there has been ZERO rain there lately, this is the last thing they need.

here is a photo from a town about 30 miles away from mine. so scary :(

Re: *T&P for texas - fire

  • So scary! Please keep us posted.
  • my mom emailed and said the winds have calmed and the three fires in the area are contained.  but the towns nearby have >5000 acres destroyed and are 0% contained........ *prayers* i cant even imagine.

because of this my parents made a list of everything they would take in an emergency so they are more prepared if something like that should (God forbid) happen again .. definitely a good idea. i made  a list when we were in florida for hurricanes and needed to evacuate...unfortunately in guam, if we have a typhoon, we just have to hunker down in place........

So sad, glad to hear your parents are ok. I wish Lee would have headed to Texas with all that rain!! Being ready for a storm/evac is a good idea. I need to do that, pack an emergency kit and I want to scan the document in our fire safe and store them electronically somewhere safe. Really need to do that
