Cider Mills

Now that it's September, DH and I want to start exploring the cider mills this year.  We had just moved here this time last year and didn't get to fit any in so this year we want to explore a few.  Any suggestions on which ones?  I hear the good ones can get super crowded.  Are they still worth going?

Re: Cider Mills

  • What area do you live in?
  • I've been to these & have liked them:

    Franklin Cider Mill, Franklin

    Parmenters, Northville

    Plymouth Orchards, Plymouth

Yates, Rochester (I love the trail you can walk here & yes, it's worth the wait)

Erwins, South Lyon (probably my favorite, just because it's more local so I go here often)

I've also heard from a few friends who live by Long Family Orchard in Commerce that they are good as well.

Just make a trip to all of them!  :=)

  • There is one called Three Cedars Farm in Northville. I loved it, there is so much for little ones! It's free, small petting farm area, little crafty store, and of course cider and donuts. And there are tons of places for photo ops. We went last year when our son was your child's age, and even though he wasn't old enough to really enjoy it, I have been so excited to take him back this year. Also, we had gone on a Sat morning, left before 1130, and it was getting crowded by then.
  • Yates is the best! Yummy treats and the best woodsy trail!

  • Blakes Orchard & Cider Mill in Armada

    17985 Armada Center Road
    Armada, MI 48005

  • We always go to Plymouth Orchards and have a fun time.  Parmenter's is alright too, but they always seem super busy and the parking sucks.

  • Yates is the best!
  • Three Cedars in awesome, DS cried when we had to leave last year he was having so much fun.  Plymouth is okay, I'm not sure I'd go back.

  • Yates in Rochester is great! Last year we took our niece and nephew (and our dog) to the cider mill in Franklin and we had a great time!
