Poll: All time favorite wedding gift that you received?

For me, it's these two little yarn dolls (maybe 3" tall) with a wood bead for a head that H's niece made us.

She made one wearing a white dress that has black hair and the other one's wearing a black suit and has brown hair.

She wrapped them herself and wrote us the sweetest card.

I'm a grinch, but my heart totally melted when I opened up that gift. The dolls sit on a bookshelf right now.

I should get a little case for them or something...

mine is our giant glass chicken. those who have been to my house, it sits on a top shelf in the house watching down on you *muahahahaaaaa*.

but more realistically, other than cash, my fave wedding gift was from my cousin...he bought me one thing off the registry ( a cake stand ), and he also bought a spatula, cake mix, and cake decorating tips to go with it (and cash!). he (his girlfriend) put so much though into it. i love it.

Money.

The only wedding gifts we received was a Hallmark Christmas ornament from DH's aunt that is a Hallmark store manager and a book about how to keep your marriage strong - from DH's uncle who has cheated on his wife more times than the family can count.

There are a lot of weddings gifts we got that I use every day and love so it's hard to say, but in terms of sentimental value I'd say my favorite is a wooden bowl that my Mom had made from my FAVORITE tree that caught a disease and had to be taken down. It had 2 big low branches and one had a swing and the other had elaborate pulley systems that my little brother and I created for hoisting eachother up and also having my mom sent up sammies for lunch

The underside says "Poplar Tree" and the our names and wedding date.

It's also special because the tree was probably hundreds of years old and now I have a piece of it!

this is so awesome!

that's an interesting gift from his uncle.

Destination wedding with 75 people - but anyone that asked, we said no gifts. We didn't want to haul it back. We didn't register anywhere. I didn't have a bridal shower. We did end up with a little money - but that was primarily from family.

Favorite big gift: my red Kitchen Aid

Favorite smaller gift: my friend's mom, who is a fabulous cook, bought the recipe box I had registered for and tucked in a bunch of her own recipes.

My favorite gift that was given is this beautiful quilt H's grandpa and his wife did for us. My favorite gift we bought with the money/gift certificates was our Kitchen Aid. I'm a baker for fun and LOVE it!

My kindergarten teacher and her husband also one of my teacher's came to our wedding. She had our invitation framed and wrote a personal note on the back of the frame. It is a beautiful gift. We have it hanging in our bedroom. She and her husband do that for all of the weddings that they attend.

i *love* that you're still in touch with your kindergarten teacher. i kept in touch with mine until about 8th grade...but it's over now
