Big milestone! We met with our board for the first time this afternoon. We have 6 board members, 1 member-at-large (our pastor), Rodgers is an ex-officio member as Executive Director, and I am title-less, but was there to give my input. ![]()
It went so well. Several of the board members were meeting each other for the first time. They got along very well and even seemed to all be on the same page about everything we discussed. Many of them have already worked with non-profits before, and some have been board members before, so they're bringing in good experience for the official/legal type things.
They're/we're going to meet every month at least until we get to Kenya and maybe for the first 6-12 months that we're there.
The meeting lasted about 2.5 hours but was so exhausting. I don't know why. Rodgers is trying to get Nate to bed, and we're probably going to lay in bed and watch a movie.
