Our water failed! It was supposed to be tested on a Thursday but the REA didn't follow up & it didn't get tested until Mon/Tue of this past week. Came back Thur that lead failed so they shocked it..and retested now we are waiting for it to come back tomorrow.
I assume the lead is backed up because it's been vacant for about a year.
We were supposed to be in final underwriting last Thursday/no later than Friday so I'm irritated, to say the least.
Did anyone fail water the first time & shocking fixed it?
We have an addendum that says we have to close 30 days from SS acceptance but they are saying 9/15 and REA said that holiday counts for 2 days?
Buying a house is THE most stressful thing, ever!!
Re: Water failed for lead.
Your buying in the stafford area right? Is it an older house? Lead problems are fairly common in our area unfortunately. Shocking should fix it especially if the house sat unused for a bit.
Since you have little ones you might consider testing it every year or so to ensure that it stays normal.
We are building in Bealeton and we've had to have 3 different water tests.
Spotsylvania, toward's Lake Anna, in Bumpass actually. The house was built in 1990 as far as I know from the reports well was put in in 1989 and is original well.
The girls get yearly tests but we will be sure to check the levels for our safety as well.
I just hope shocking fixes it..I guess we'll find out tomorrow, hopefully!
Thanks.
