? need gift ideas - 9yr old girl, 5yr old boy
I'm in crazy planning/nesting mode and I'm trying to get all my Christmas gifts at least planned out. This would need to be a fairly simple sewing or knitting project, or possibly something else crafty (but those are my 2 real "skills").
Budget is a serious concern for us this year - and I'm trying to make a gift for each for under $20 each - hopefully less.
They are pretty simple kids, live in the country/small town and they don't have anything that they're super crazed about (like a hobby/interest) that I know of unless it's country/cowboy stuff.
Thanks for any suggestions!

What about a glass tile or bottle cap necklace for the 9 year old (I actually ordered some from etsy for my nieces last year and they loved them). I've made the glass tile necklaces before and they're not hard or expensive.
For the 5 year old - what about a superhero cape/mask? I have a 5 year old daughter and she loves hers.

A fort kit is a great idea. Here is a tute, I made the duffel bag to have it in and made coordinating bags to hold all the clothespins etc and it went over great http://www.saltwater-kids.com/2008/11/fort-kit-mini-tutorial.html
this seems like a cute/easy/cheap idea too for boys

Not too many ideas for girls, but do you think that's an age where she'd like her own purse? Or maybe some cool jewelry and hair accesories
