DH has been working so much that when my principal asked for a picture with your family from something you'd done this summer, I realized I didn't have any! Yes, we purchased a house, but we haven't DONE anything. So with the three day weekend here, I told him we're having a date.
We packed a picnic lunch and drove out to the wineries. We did a tasting flight, had lunch on their porch, and walked around the winery before driving to a nearby farm for a pie and coming home. It was a really nice day, but it was the only cute thing we could think of to do!
So this leads me to my question...other than dinner/movie, what do you and DH do for a "date" these days?

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

Re: Date ideas
date to my husband means something completely different than it does to me.
For him, the ideal date day would be going to the river, having a picnic lunch (his "gift to me" and then wading up the river to do some waist deep fishing.
I'd love to just spend a day strolling through an older town and visiting the quaint shops and boutiques.
We like to make a yummy dinner at home and watch some DVR'd shows, or sometimes we just go to the grocery stores and get cheeses and meats and bread and have an antipasti dinner and some wine. It's super romantic.
Also, we like to have game night or walk around festivals or go people watching and window shopping at the mall.
my read shelf:
Oh, we like doing the appetizer dinner and wine too. Bruschetta, fresh bread, cheeses, yum!
This sounds like a great date to me - right up our alley and totally something we'd do as well.
Our date nights are usually just dinner and a movie. Or just snuggling on the couch and watching a movie from Red Box or recorded shows. We like spending the day in Boston just walking around too (we actually did that this weekend). I think no matter what you're doing as long as you and DH are spending time alone together - that's a date!
My H and BIL are crazy about MvF. So much so, that as soon as it was announced that vacation this year was going to be in DC that they immediately were looking up what restaurants he's featured and planning the other activities based on proximity to the restaurant. We landed up at Ben's Chili Bowl.
